  1. Good Afternoon ! I have some gorgeous material that I would like made into a dress for my 6 year old little girl and I would like some bunting made from the same material. Could anyone do this for me in exchange for some cookies/cake pops/cupcakes/paper bunting/large cake? I have pictures of my baked treats and paper craft creations that I could send to a mobile or email address. Thanks in advance. Xx
  2. In my opinion Horniman Primary School is fantastic - our girls have flourished there, made excellent friends and have always been safe and happy. Our eldest daughter ( nearly 16 ) went there, we have a daughter there now and one starting in September. Why not come along to the Horniman Nearly New and Spring Fair this Saturday ? (ALL welcome not just parents & pupils of Horniman) Then you can get a natural picture of the school and it's surroundings This Sat 18th May from 2.00 till 4.00pm Horniman Drive, SE23 3BP Bring & Buy Clothes / Books / Toys / Bouncy Castle Maypole Dancing And indoor shelter if it rains - tee hee A great time for all the family and you will get a feel of the school, the pupils that already attend and the wonderful teaching staff.
  3. Hi, I have been trying to do similar for the past 3 years plus with little success - but that is just my experience. Sincere kudos to all those in the children's party industry who are making it work ! I have attached some pictures of some cake pops I made and custom made bunting. In fact I remember putting up a similar thread here a while back & whilst others thought the bunting was nice to look at one lady mentioned that there was a seller on ebay charging a mere ?1 per letter and I cannot compete with those prices. I currently have two very large commercial juice dispensers, various cake stands, an electronic cutting machine and many other things I have purchased that are simply not getting used. I had a website and blog. Got a little stint in Vogue Magazine and some local mags but again whilst parents loved my products the average local family just could not afford my products. I do agree however that more affluent areas / celebrities / corporate companies can afford such services but they are very hard to break into. But not impossible. Maybe I lacked the ability to think outside the box. If you could find a unique way of presenting your company so that others could not compare it to services on the internet perhaps ? And find a way of making your services affordable (if still wanting to cater to local parents) but obviously you would still need to make a worthwhile profit. Les Enfants Sharky and George Fraser and Parsley are all high end children's party companies - look them up
  4. Also open to any local workshops that anyone knows of. Would be great to hear of English courses too but Maths is more pressing at the moment. Thanks everyone !
  5. Hope this is the right section ..... Can anyone recommend a good GSCE Maths tutor ? Thanks
  6. Thanks. A 3D cake would be fab too !! Could stick an ice fountain in the dinosaurs mouth to imitate fire. Go for it. x
  7. Hi, If you don't have any luck finding a dinosaur mould you can either find a good image on the computer, make a template then cut round the template after baking a rectangle cake. You could make cake pops with the cut offs. Easier still- I regularly make small templates then cut round sugarpaste to make animals and characters. See example in the attached picture of a Peppa Pig I made for my friends little one. Good luck !!
  8. Thanks ladies Loving the adjustable height tables on amazon could use them for adult and child gatherings
  9. A last resort I guess if there are no long children's tables. You know how the little ones knock knees and spill drinks every second I can only imagine lots of very small unsturdy tables side by side not being a very good idea.
  10. Thanks I'll check out Homebase. Won't bother looking at Jojo as I specifically want some plastic ones so they can be easily cleaned and used in the garden. I did think about Homebase / Argos / Ikea but they usually have tables that seat only one or two children and they would be for a children's party. If there is still a table for 4 in Homebase I guess I could bunch a few tables together. Thanks again.
  11. Hi Ladies , I was wondering if anyone could help. I am desperately looking for some low (suitable for small children) preferably plastic tables and chairs Please see attached picture for example. Any pointers greatly appreciated, Children's chairs are everywhere but not having so much luck finding dinky tables. Thanks !
  12. Don't usually do recommendations but Sugar Mountain is a FANTASTIC addition to the area. If you have not visited already think Hope & Greenwood but much larger with fabulous breads (at the weekends ) homemade vinegars and chutneys, American cereal, cake pops and many other unusual treats. Didn't think I would visit much when it first opened but with such a large variety of savoury and sweet treats it has become one of our regular haunts. Take a peek one day - you will not be disappointed !
  13. Nothing terribly exciting Anyone know where I can find reusable sandwich wraps to buy locally ? Three children 2 of which have packed lunch now 1 to start next year Cost of cellophane bags and paper bags will soon creep up :-X
