Does anyone know where I can recycle my tree lights. After years of wiggling the wire at the plug they have now given up the ghost. There is lots of info on tree recycling but not lights... There used to be electrical recycling bins at Sainsbury's on DKH but haven't been in such a long time. Are they still there?

There are people who's job it is to sort this out. Leave it to them & protect yourself. You never know how others will react as you just experienced. If an accident happens then they are at fault and have to bear the consequences.

Hi, not tried hot pod. There are some decent yoga classes in the Goose Green Centre https://www.stjohnseastdulwich.org/wp-content/uploads/Goose-Green-activities-and-classes-Nov-2022-1.pdf

I would love to see their environmental impact assessment on this. It should cover surrounding areas, and should be pre changes, not post.
-
Absolutely agree with you. There also used to be an age limit for purchasing, so how school kids are getting their hands on them I don't know...

Sounds like the councillors are being defensive... Out of interest, does anyone know if an environmental impact assessment was done for surrounding areas before the restrictions were put in place?

How do emergency vehicles get through? -
It appears that socially constructed stereotypes are the new way to define women and men. So if a man wears a dress, paints his nails and calls himself Delilah, then he's a woman. If a woman cuts her hair short, dons some DMs and braces, then she's a man. Neither needs to take hormones to be considered to have changed 'gender', they just need to 'live' as they 'feel'. Oh I get it, don't wash or cut your hair, just feel it is clean & styled.

Goose Green councillors - how can we help?
Lebanums replied to jamesmcash's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
We had someone mark out our pavement for repairs the other day. Conway came to fix these today. I think the expectation v's reality clearly misses the mark. -
Quite partial to a Joe & the Juice in the past. I visited the ED branch recently, they made way too much & tipped the rest down the sink. Maybe if they had less waste, they could drop their prices, oh and speed up their service, it is so slow. I've been going to Vits & Kicks lately.

Building works on Ulverscroft Road
Lebanums replied to misterdulwich's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
If the builders are respectful, you should consider yourself lucky. One of our neighbours is currently having a loft extension. The builders drive up the street in the morning, peep their horn, then shout to whoever is on the roof with no regard to the neighbours. The manager constantly shouts & swears at his workers. It's appalling! -
Lime bikes (and other hire companies) left in middle of pavement

There are no clubs, but if you are looking for cocktails, there is God's Gift on LL.

One of my friends' parents was visiting from Argentina. She fell & broke her ankle. She was in A&E & then sent to the hospital. She tried to show her insurance documents and pay, but they refused to accept payment. I don't see how they will collect for no shows with no payment details if they can't collect for visitors when they are willing to pay. The whole system needs an overhaul.

Hear hear Rockets While manufacturers are producing cars, people will keep buying them. It is not illegal to own or drive a car... Maybe they should focus their efforts elsewhere, like keeping the no 12 bus and suggesting new connection routes between outside areas. Increasing the train schedule, reducing public transport costs, because in most cases it's still more cost effective to drive even with the increase in fuel unless you are walking or on a bike, but not everyone is so fortunate to engage in those modes to get to work. Maybe they will start attacking the solar system next, because the sun eventually swallows the earth.

It takes me more than double the time already to go to work by public transport than by car. I can hardly see the incentive for me to use it if I have to wait even longer due to packed buses.

I will never make my money back whilst living in my current house. I have 0 interest in pursuing this until the cost comes down. Also investigated a heat pump, but the placement of the external unit would mean it would not work as intended.

Definitely not cost effective. With payback in 20 years, there are no savings to be made.

I got a quote from solar together for panels + battery. The savings vs the cost meant payback would be in 20 years.. I'll wait until they are more affordable.

`petrol East Dulwich roundabout
Lebanums replied to richard tudor's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Try petrol prices, online & app for the best prices around. I always use it when it's time to put some in the tank. Although I don't fill completely, only what I need for a few weeks. -
royal mail, is it just me having problems?
Lebanums replied to pato's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Been waiting 2 weeks on something being delivered. I have a tracking no, but there is no tracking information, since they haven't tried to deliver it... -
I thought Saucy was quite pricey for what it was. I don't mind a J&TJ but not every week.

Egyptian goose attacked by dog off lead in Peckham park
Lebanums replied to staplemeg's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
It clearly says round the lake that dogs should be kept on a short lead. I was fearful of this when the goslings had hatched. I did say to a few owners who had their dogs off leads to be mindful that there were goslings around, but I got a blank stare back.
