I am a volunteer at The Bigger Picture and watch netflix most evenings and Channel 4. The new Walter presents on Channel 4 is showing The Great Beauty and many other films that we as a group have mentioned if not chosen to show at EDT. We cannot compete with C4 and dont want to but need to find films that people want to see that benefit from a big screen. The added value is you are watching with local folk who also like film and can have food and drink in a friendly chatty warm place (or you can be quiet too if you want). All money made on the very cheap tickets go to local charities and we want to continue. We will try and have speakers to come and introduce the films. Let us know if anyone knows anyone local who we can invite, for me as a non film film expert I really enjoy hearing about the film from someone who knows its background or director. Great something is starting in Crystal Palace Come and join us at The Bigger Picture at EastDulwich Tavern We would like to show more films but need more helpers, both on the night and to choose films. All profits go to local charities. Food and drink at EDT comfy sofas and a film a month but if anyone has any time and energy we could show more films. Hi The Bigger Picture Upstairs at East Dulwich Tavern has been running a few months now. They show independent interesting films in the comfort of dark sofas good food and the bar upstairs opened specially for the film night. They sometimes get the film directors to come and speak. Its much cheaper than the Ritzy, big screen and good atmosphere.They are looking for ideas for films and are open to suggestions.
