Hi Dulwich Fox, I looked at this today on iPad, sadly agree with all comments above re being old-fashioned. To help you hear and accept all the comments above I suggest you remove yourself personally from the comments and think of yourself as the editor, you now need your techy person to help your idea/company flourish. Many comments above will help your techy person succeed and therefore your concept and the success of this site grow. Don't take it personally and it will be a success, take it personally and change nothing and none of us will ever use the site as it's not appealing.Additionally, all web pages need to work well on mobile technology or won't be used. My comments are supportive and I hope they read as such.

Forest Hill Road (opinion on shop fronts and signs)
Anstergirl replied to Anstergirl's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Calm down everyone. I meant the planning re the lights. Sorry! I love Omrith but think they have made their place look tacky now. I also daily support one or other of all these shops, all I am hoping for is the skips that have sat in front of shops all winter to move and things to open! -
Can any one tell me how Omrith is getting away with those hideous neon white shop frontage lights? Harsh and tacky. James Barbour?? Also the old chippy is planning to be a kebab shop - never saw any planning re this?? Happy if it just got the skip out of the front though and opened, as messy for months now. Additionally the grubby yellow shop beside the barber had people going in and out for a while but has not opened. Any idea what is going on? Would like to say huge thanks to The Galleon Hairdressers who have done an enormous amount to improve this busy and successful but a bit tatty set of shops, love the co-op (!) french cafe, italian restaurant, pharmacy, post-office, DIY shop (but tatty too, though, which is ironic), and then turkish deli always have anything I am needing so I like them - rant over?...

Best travel route to Goodge Street at rush hour?
Anstergirl replied to poppet27's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
As you seem nearer to Forest Hill Road, I would get 63 or 363 bus to Elephant. Get off and go one stop south on Northern line and then go back north to Goodge street. You would need to get the bus at 07:40 to be in plenty time -takes about an hour. Try TFL website for exact tines. -
Have two tickets for tonight available. We both have cold ( man flu in one case!) and feel unable to go tonight. If you want to go PM me and we can send you the electronic tickets. It is at ST Oancras old church a fabulously evocative venue north of St Pancras station. Can get 63 bus to kings cross from forest hill road!

Bollard Painting Outside the Coop
Anstergirl replied to Twoddle's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Not sure this is at all official painting, seems more ad hoc and impromptu.I live on FHR and I like them! There was a plan from Southwark council last year, which we all had through our doors, saying they would paint them black again. ( This was part of larger "traffic calming" measures. ( taking away parking spaces, really.) I know several neighbours wrote back to council to say they liked the colourful bollards. So we DID vote for this! -
We found one in our garden last week, had been dead for some time and was full of seething maggots! Neighbour had seen one too. Yuck!

What happened to the possible extension of the 63 bus?
Anstergirl replied to Evie's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Sounds good Gavin. Here's hoping the extension of the route can be achieved. Would use it twice a day at least. -

Another thing- why is there not speed cameras or those signs that show speed going. Setting these up should alleviate some of the problem. Think Renata may be councillor who should respond.
-
I live on Forest Hill Road and the speed of cars appears to have drastically INCREASED since those crossing places were put in. The crossing places have only made it marginally easier to cross. The should be zebra crossings and at least cars would slow down a bit. If you are driving down hill you can see any evidence of crossing places so drivers make no allowance for this. I saw the aftermath of this crash when on way to work, and sadly was not surprised. There is an urgent requirement to reduce speed on this road before people are killed. James Barbour - response please.
