  1. Thanks. Yes, I think they are privacy blinds.
  2. Sorry about the odd title but...what are those blinds called that lots of people have? You can see out of them but not into the house. If anyone know please can you let me know? They look like very thin linen and I think they are on a roller. Thanks, Liz :-)
  3. Hi Emski, I agree with Strawbs completely. As she says 10 weeks is a tough time because you are very tired. Some friends may be in a routine by now too so it is hard not to compare. As I always say (with the beauty of hindsight) if sleeping was that easy there would not be so many books/ experts out there talking about the subject. I hope it gets easier for you soon. I feel your pain having had been there myself. Liz x
  4. Hello onthehill. My name is Liz Stuart and I hold the Powerpramming classes. You are very welcome to come along and see how it goes. There is not a booking system. Just turn up and Pay as you go. It is ?6.50. We do a mixture of exercises focusing on posture, flexibility, balance, strength and cardio. All important componenets to overall fitness. I am qualified in teaching ante and postnatal exercise. I encourage people to work at their own pace due to the nature of the class. If people want to work hard they can and if they want to take it easy (perhaps had a series of rough nights or just returning to exercise) they are comfortable to do that too. All general info about what to wear and what to bring etc is on the website www.powerpramming.co.uk The class convenient to you is Thurs at 10am in Dulwich Park. We meet at the Court Lane Gate and the class lasts 1 hour. I hope you can make it. Any pram in working order is fine to bring and you do not need to run either. You can stick to low impact Powerwalking if that suits you (as it does many people). Thanks mima08 for mentioning it :-) Liz 07976 778413
  5. I've got two boys and I love it. They are great fun as as others have said - you have everything already and know what to expect. They get along well but also do have their many moments of fighting and bickering. I imagine that happens with all siblings though. They are VERY loud most of the time and also full of energy. Someone said that having boys is like having dogs as you have to feed and exercise them regularly throughout the day. They are 2.5 years apart - now 8 and 6 so doing lots of sporty things together like tennis and athletics. Neither is into football or rugby for some reason. As they are getting older I am noticing they spend more time reading than they ever used to. If I was to have a happy accident and get pregnant again I would hope it was another boy (perhaps that is because I am one of 5 girls!). To be honest though I think we would all be happy with whatever gender we get as kids male or female are such a blessing. Don't worry reren it will be fine :-)
  6. OMG Mrs TP I am dreading this stage. Mainly because I can remember what we used to get up to when we were 'playing out' at that age in Liverpool. We got up to all kinds that I really would not want my kids getting up to. I think the likelyhood of them getting abducted is virtually nil but the likelyhood of getting led astray by older kids/ kids with more freedom is a big one. We had way too much freedom. I am with you and I would have said 'no' to the friend too if it was E or O being called for. But as someone said if it was earlier and they were just going to a house that you approved of that was an easy distance away it would not be such a big issue. Eek - good luck.
  7. Agree with Pickle. Once you hear the songs and see the pics it all falls into place.
  8. Mrs TP - as this is a bank holiday weekend and perfect timing for a blitz. I'm painting the loft this weekend as the conversion is just coming to an end. Husband always comes over a bit funny when he paints. Either he makes it up or is allergic to something in the paint. Saffron - my sister's partner is a plasterer and has to wait ages for him to do stuff on their house too!

  10. Oh yes - my husband washes his own shirts and irons them too. Wouldn't trust me near them!
  11. I live in a messy house and I don't have a cleaner. After battling with the mess I've decided there are 2 types of people: 1. tidy and organised 2. messy and disorganised I am defo in the 2nd category. I would love, love, love to be in the first but it is never going to happen. Just as I will never be one of those women who are always nicely accessorized and have lovely hair - I just can't. I wish I could though! Someone mentioned about our parents never doing the washing so much. I think it is because they did not have automatic washing machines back then. We had a twin tub. My mum worked full time, had 5 girls and my granny lived with us. There was soooo much washing. Mrs TP - love the work story and I can just imagine you saying that! Your house is lovely anyway. Sugarmouse I will pM you re the bed wetting.

Our's still not working. The whole time the display has shown the signal strength to be full but still not able to make/ receive calls. I can send and receive texts though.
  13. Love all these recommendations. I know this one probably sounds really boring but I would love a day to drive/ take a train out into the countryside for a trail walk or run.
  14. Hi, From time to time I've seen and participated in discussions on pelvic floor issues. I've just put a message in the 'What's On' section about the Foo Foo Fun Club which is a 6 week exercise course focused on pelvic floor and core. The course offers a great deal of help and support. Much research has gone into it. Here is the link to the message in 'What's On' http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?6,1112920 Thanks, Liz

I've chopped veg into tiny little pieces, ground nutmeg without slicing my fingers as I would normally do on the grater and also made bread using the dough mixing knife. So far I am pleased with it. I could not afford a magimix so this was a good option I think. Thanks for the recommendations. Good luck with your's mima08. I am glad you found a processor too ;-)

This just goes to show you just > can't plan these things..! Kind of similar situation to Juno. Got preggers by accident with number 3 and was really unhappy about it due to the financial stress it would have caused and I also felt a bit old (a personal hang up I have). Got head round the idea and was then really happy and then along came the miscarriage. I was more upset about it than with my previous miscarriage as I was in my late 30's so it felt almost like a 'last chance'. Now I'm 41 I really wish we had gone for a 3rd when I was younger. But we have 2 fab boys and of course I am very, very grateful for that blessing.
  18. Katgod, I have a hand held cake mixer too which works really well but I quite like the idea of pressing a button and walking off to do something else while the cake mixes - I need to get a life I know :-) Thanks BeccaL I shall look into that one then.
  19. BeccaL - thanks. Does your one chop up stuff and mix cakes too? mima08 - I want mine for the same things as you do I think. Thanks, Liz
  20. Thanks Lochie and Womanof dulwich. I noticed the multipro is on offer in big sainsbury at the moment.
  21. Morning! I'm thinking about getting a food processor. Seems like they make the chopping and food prep lighter work. They vary in price from about ?40 to over ?300. What is the difference? I know many people have them so any advice would be appreciated. Also do any processors also become mixers/ blenders or do you have to purchase those separately? Please let me know your opinions :-) Many thanks Liz
  22. I used Halliwells 9 years ago when I was going through the same thing. The employer paid for it as it was part of the deal. Good luck.
  23. Love the vintage furniture one!
  24. Thank you both x
  25. Left it too late for online ordering for son's 6th birthday on Thursday. Does anyone know what shops sell them locally please? Thanks, Liz
