I recently hired some children's tables and chairs from here http://www.hallmarkcatering.com/product_show.php?hcid=7 Very reasonable and based in Sydenham so if you want to keep costs down can pick them up yourselves. They were really efficient and good to deal with as well - highly recommend.
When my daughter did mornings at nursery we used to enjoy gdnd's mini moves class at dulwich leisure centre - http://www.gdnd.co.uk/timetable/ Southwark gymnastics run a coach led pre-school session at camberwell leisure centre on a Thursday http://southwarkgymnastics.co.uk/classes/pre-school/
Second the dermatology nurse at burbage rd practice, referral via your GP, we only waited a couple of weeks for that appointment. Via the nurse we then got to see Dr Elisabeth Higgins at kings a couple of weeks later. If this isn't an option I recommend dr Higgins - she runs private practice out of the Lister Hospital.
Our cleaner refuses to take a bonus off us so we buy her a sainsburys gift card, probably ?50 then also a nice present for her daughter - she spoils our kids over the year and will buy them presents even though I tell her not to.
Is he interested on dancing at all, Gdnd academy do a class called little moves street dance at east dulwich leisure centre on a Monday afternoon. My daughter loved it and her little brother would come along and really enjoyed it too. http://www.gdnd.co.uk/timetable/
I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations or suggestions for exercise classes. my youngest will be starting at nursery a few mornings a week and I'd like to use the time to get back in shape but struggling to find any classes that work re timings. I will need a class to start about 10.15/10.30 anywhere in Dulwich area? Otherwise I will just head to the gym or a swim but I'd be more motivated by a class. Also does anyone know of any classes running on either Tuesdays or Wednesday evenings 7.30pm onwards in the bellenden rd area?
And Ruskin park paddling pool also closed for maintenance as of tomorrow http://friendsruskinpark.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Paddling-pool-closure.jpg
The tiny gym (for pre-school ages) at camberwell leisure centre will be running most of the summer (except last 2 weeks). It runs at 10am or 11am on Monday and Thursdays or 10.15 or 11.15 on a Saturday. I know there is a playgroup at the Salvation Army on Lomond Grove a few mornings a week, but haven't been and unsure if running over the summer. There is also the childrens centre at Crawford school which has some things running over the summer - here is a link to the southwark let's go guide for under fives http://www.southwark.gov.uk/download/downloads/id/10736/camberwell_and_dulwich
Camberwell tiny gym is running, all summer except for last two weeks of August. So Thursdays at 10 or 11 and Saturdays 10.15 or 11.15 Also southwark let's go guides have their summer leaflets on line http://www.southwark.gov.uk/info/200246/activities_and_things_to_do/768/activities_for_under_fives
I really rate the wow toys, my son got a few of the vehicles for his 1st birthday and he loves playing with them and could see him playing with them for a good few years http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/feature.html?ie=UTF8&docId=1000593843 His older sister has a wooden train set and at the moment (21months) he is far too heavy handed for it.
We are looking to get away for a short break at the weekend with the kids, looking for a hotel within 2hrs drive and must have an indoor swimming pool. Does anyone have any recommendations? Has anyone stayed at Foxhills resort?
Diana memorial playground, the emirates cable cars, Olympic park, Greenwich park inc the maritime museum, and the docklands museum. Also whilst at the natural history go into the sensational butterfly exhibition, my 3 year old loved it last year.
The school year runs from 1st September - 31st august, a child starts school in the September after they have turned 4. So as your boy was born in the year 1st September 2011-31st August 2012, that means he will start September 2016.
From my experience I would do mornings. I started off doing afternoons thinking my daughter and her little brother could spend time together in the morning and I could get a rest in the afternoon when he was sleeping. But found we never did much in the mornings as was not enough time before eating lunch and heading off to school. I did however live a fair way from the nursery though(moved house in the summer - which wasn't planned)so that meant we spent more time travelling. If you live within 5 minutes or so of the nursery then maybe afternoons would work. We subsequently got her a place at the local school nursery which does 2 1/2 days rather than the five half days and this works so much better for us.
Not necessarily that structured but at camberwell leisure centre on a Monday and Thursday mornings they run a toddler gym with climbing equipment, small trampoline and other bits out. There are instructors there who will help out. I go with a 3.5 year old and a crawling 1 year old as well and find it very manageable with two.
I love kidspace in Croydon but I'm unsure if it is doable with 2 under fives and just one adult. I know I wouldn't cope as my 3.5 year old daughter would need me to help her on some parts and couldn't do that with younger one to watch over as well.
