  1. Spooner the let's go guides are guides published by southwark council listing activities for under fives. Here is the link but they don't seem to have the new terms guides up yet http://www.southwark.gov.uk/downloads/download/2409/lets_go_guide_fun_for_under_fives
  2. If you ever find yourself in Wimbledon I was at this place just before Christmas http://www.jitterbugsplaycafe.co.uk/index_files/Page384.htm - coffee ok, not sure if relaxing but did give me a chance to sit down for a while.
  3. If you can't face the escalators or steps at Oxford Circus, Green Park now has lifts to street level then a short walk up to Oxford street.
  4. Not sure of the age of your child, if under 18 months stay and play at the Albrighton Centre (off dog kennel hill- opposite sainsburys) is a nice friendly group. Runs from 1.30-3pm soft mats and a ball pit plenty of space to crawl or run around and areas for younger babies to play, and then there is a bit of singing at the end. Not sure about Tuesday and wednesday afternoons - I always struggled to find activities at those times.
  5. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Parentchildcare My friend has sent me on the details of this GlA childcare survey that needs to be filled in by 4th November.
  6. " even if you're at tommy's for the birth, they don't come to do your post-natal visits, that is passed onto Kings. I'm not aware of how smooth that transition is and would want to check how it happens/if this means a bigger gap between leaving hospital and having home visit... am sure those who've had babies at tommy's can tell you how this worked." I had baby at Tommies - good experience for me. Had no problems with the transition of ante-natal care from Tommies to kings. I had a kings midwife come and see me within 24hrs of being home. I was discharged with high blood pressure and a couple of other problems, I had all my medical notes from the hospital to give her and she was able to ensure I had all the right medication and came in pretty much everyday to check my blood pressure until it went down enough to be discharged from their care.
  7. Yes still on, not entirely sure of the start date for this term, hoping it is Monday as have missed it and will be popping along then. I totally agree this is the friendliest group we have been too, been going since last December and my daughter loves it. They now have lots of lovely new equipment and is like a small soft play area.
  8. Lost the shoe yesterday somewhere along underhill road or Barry road towards the rye.
  9. Me and my littleun love stay and play on a Monday 1.30-3.00 at the albrighton centre - lots of mats and soft play type toys and no children older than 18 months. However next monday's session will be the last one until steptember :(
  10. I need to get to Paddington station on Monday with baby and luggage - does anyone know how accessible Paddington Underground station is, I'm ok if it is just escalators, no steps? Also would Waterloo be the best place to change, is the interchange from Jubilee line to Bakerloo line step free (starting my journey at Forest Hill, on to Jubilee line)? Also considering getting a cab up, could call a black cab but does anyone know any minicab companies that have child car seats (size 0)?
  11. I found the cookbook quite useful - think you can get away with just getting that as first couple of chapters talks about what baby led weaning is. The recipes then have meal ideas for the whole family but what I found useful were the recipies and ideas for snacks as my daughter prefers to eat little and often- the bannana muffins being the biggest hit.
  12. I was going to say the albrighton centre as well. The council have provided them with a lovely new building now they need to raise funds to keep it running, including the sale of 2nd hand clothes, books toys etc
  13. Hi I had a small amount of success with the breastflow bottles, daughter happily took them but as I did not give her a regular bottle she started to refuse them at 3 months, just after I had ordered another couple. I still do have the unused bottles and you are welcome to have them so you can try them out and maybe you will have better luck with them.
  14. This sounds great and just round the corner from me. What age babies/toddlers will they take at the cr?che?
  15. I go to a lovely free group on a Monday afternoon, 1.30-3.00pm. Stay and play, which takes place in the new community centre on the albrighton estate (opposite sainsburys on dog kennel Hill. Closed until the Monday after May day bank holiday.
  16. Am I the only one who thinks it is a lot quicker getting round Peckham at the moment with all the roadworks, especially going into town? However I only travel out of rush hour, so maybe it is different in peak times.
  17. my daughter who is just over 6 months and Breastfed started doing this at around 5 months, having previously slept through. I put it down to just a sleep regression - if you google it there is a lot of info about a sleep regression at the 5/6 month mark. I offered the boob as she always seemed hungry and would settle back down quickly. I have ridden it out and now she seems to be getting back on track - only waking once at about 3am rather than every couple of hrs.
  18. Does anyone know is the 363 running all the way, or terminating at Peckham Rye?
  19. Natalie what age is whippersnappers for my daughter is 4 months, would it be suitable?
  20. Hello New to the area and have a five week old daughter, is it ok if I try and come along - desperate to meet some other mums in the area? best wishes Jane
