BUS: Evening diversions on Dog Kennel Hill
gebbjane replied to OutOfFocus's topic in Roads & Transport
Does any know if Dog Kennel Hill is still closed to buses in the evenings? I need to get up to Denmark Hill tonight but my partner came in last night about 10pm and said there were no buses. -
Holland & Barrett is coming to Lordship Lane
gebbjane replied to GMav's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Yes the organic grocers by Chener books has some no packaging stuff. The shop mentioned above that opened pre-covid was As Nature Intended, they had a fairly large selection of no packaging stuff. They were acquired by Planet Organic who obviously decided the store wasn’t performing well enough so chose to close. -

Kartuli is my favourite window - looking so beautiful!

They posted this on social media a couple of weeks back ☹️

The 40 is currently starting and ending at ED station.

I was also just on a p13 towards Streatham and this was diverted up to Barry rd by the Library, so is not heading up Whateley Rd and first part of underhill. It says on the service update UNDERHILL ROAD: ROUTE P13 is diverted in both directions due to damaged manhole cover. Buses are not serving the Crystal Palace Road and Whateley Road stops.

I think from the licence app it means the licence applied for is 7 days a week Sun-Sat 9.00-23.00 not just the weekend.

The one in Peckham is a lot bigger and brighter than Camberwell one. Haven’t been to the old Kent rd one in years might pop down and compare.

Totally shocked by the number of Lime bikes at Sainsburys this afternoon (match Day). The bikes were completely blocking the footpath from the bus stop to the shop - wish the users were not so inconsiderate. Whilst waiting for my bus had to help one elderly lady get round with her shopping trolly bag.

Best charity shop for man’s suit?
gebbjane replied to stellakis's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Vinted is probably your best bet in finding something if none of the local shops have anything. Traid and Crisis in Peckham have fairly big men’s sections so that might be worth a look. I do have a purple suit gathering dust, but sadly the wrong size. Mine was used by my son for various Halloween /book day costumes over a couple of years but is only age 10 size. Is it a purple suit to dress up as joker for Halloween? If so we managed to find a second hand white linen suit which I dyed, so that could be an option too for you to look out for. If it’s for something a lot more smarter, just ignore me! -
Such a shame the Odeon and bowling at Surrey Quays has gone
gebbjane replied to Rockets's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
And for bowling just jump on the 185 as Lewisham Lanes is great. Or if you want a Hollywood Bowl they still have one at the O2. -
That is the agent - seen here in the sales video https://www.instagram.com/reel/C_SmC6Uo3IP/?igsh=MWJ0b3dtZzhtZzJvbg==

Love Joseph’s fish and chips - always had fresh fish and tasty, it’s our go to place for fish and chips now. Also really helpful friendly staff so if you were not happy I’m sure they would have love to have heard your feedback.

At Sainsbury’s you can get a litre bottle in the Polish fridge section. Much better value than the small pots.

We have also been happy with the school. My child is in year 9, there was a few settling in issues in year 7 mainly due to anxiety around rules and discipline, but by term 2 this had sorted itself out. Happy with most of their teachers, obviously there are the odd teachers not so happy with!! Also we’ve had a couple of substitutes but for no longer than a term. As a new school the facilities such as science labs and art rooms are very good and we look forward to the last bit of building works being finished hopefully by Dec this year. They are doing well academically, and have been pushed. The school didn’t set a great deal of homework when they started, but for us we liked the gradual build of homework, they certainly get more now they are in year 9. I really also like that it is a local school, so all their friends are in the local area and they can meet up easily out of school. Rather than being scattered around. @mima08 you should have 1 parents evening a year, and all teachers are contactable by email if you have any concerns / questions for them.
