  1. I bought one last Christmas, went everyone to find one as it was one of the most popular toys. Sadly not great. Any background noise and it won't do the command. We played with it for about 10 mins and got fed up with it barking instead of laying down. At the bottom of the toy box now.
  2. Hi there, My daughter is in year 2 and the school is planning on teaching them sex education over 6 classes. Any other schools doing this in Year 2? Thanks for your time
  3. My daughter suffers from skin conditions and have found that Dermol cream from the GP works wonders. Also, watched a programme, Food Hospital and it recommended using turmeric in meals to stop the inflammation and it has really has started to work. I hope your little one improves.
  4. Thanks so much for your advice. No further spots today but it was a hard night! All the best Katgod, just waiting for my two year old to get it!
  5. Thanks Snowboarder, fingers crossed she improves tomorrow Did you also find Piriton worked with the need to itch? Sorry for all the questions, but as you said, reviewing chicken pox on the internet is pretty scary!
  6. Just wondering how long it takes for all the spots to appear? My daughter has had the pox for two whole days and every hour more seems to be appearing. When is safe to send her back to school?
  7. I can add a bit more info DVR (Goose Green Roundabout) (Early 2000's). Was a cash coverters previously, but before that it was The Institute of Engineers Sugar (Goose Green Roundabout) A video rental shop, privately owned Just William: It was Osbourne Stewart Estate agents but was originally an Insurance Brokers East Dulwich Deli: Second hand baby shop owned by Mrs Georgious 43 Lordship Lane Hirst Bakery: Originally Place Bakery, changed to Munchbox I do remember back in the 80's the site where Bushell's are was a second hand furniture shop. I also remember the greengrocers run by Forder at the bottom of the Lane.
  8. My piece of advice would be a toddler seat that you put on the toilet, our two year girl, loves the toilet, reason being, we have lights that change colour. She will sit there and complete your duties whilst saying all the colours. All the best
  9. I used Tina from www.vintageafternoons.co.uk she came to my 2 year olds party as Peppa Pig, she also does fairy and princess parties and Hello Kitty She was great and everyone was really taken by her I will be booking her for my 6 year olds aswell
  10. Great, thanks very much, I have passed this on
  11. Hi, My friend has a two year old who has just broken one of her back teeth. Half of the tooth has fallen out and the rest is still in the gum. Child not eating and is complaining of pain. Dentist not aswering at the moment. Why does it always happen at a weekend! Any advice/help urgently needed. Thank you.
  12. I just wanted to say thank you for such a kind gesture. My husband owns a business on LL and we were sick to the stomach last night with worry. Thank you once again and lets keep our fingers crossed that this is the end to the trouble.
  13. I know her, she is my aunt! She will contact you directly!
  14. BT say that it should be back on track by 10pm.
  15. Hi there, Agree with ryedalema, also did this with our daughter and it worked. When time out has finished, get down to her level, explain why you put her on the naughty step/corner/spot and then ask her to say sorry and give a big hug. She should be there for 2 mins. Let her scream, cry and do anything to get it out of her system. If she moves off the step etc, put her back without speaking to her. Friends have copied this and has worked wonders. Remember, she is not angry with you, she just needs to express her frustations and her own thinking spot can do this. Before starting the naughty step etc, make sure you give her two warnings about her behaviour and then put her on there. With regards to biting, I would bite her back and see what her reaction is. Mine only bite me once! Do not put her in her bedroom, as this is would create a negative reason to be in her room. You could even put a red cushion on the naughty spot and this will show her and remind her that this is where she will go(somewhere safe and out of the way, mine is in the hallway). Good luck, and follow this through at other peoples houses/ shops etc. We have all been there.
  16. Hi Emma, I have been to Disney a few times, the best ride for my six month was the small world boat ride, you can buy from Mothercare a wind up toy that plays the small world tune which you could play to your baby before and after your trip. Good luck and have a great time, we love Disney!
  17. My daughter will be celebrating her birthday on 20.10.2010 Must remember to buy a newspaper as a keep sake
  18. Very interesting as I am at the same stage. Can the child have semi or is full fat best?
  19. Hi anna_r, I planned for a home birth with my 2nd child, but two weeks overdue had to be induced. The midwife did say if I could dilate up to 2cm then she would try and break my waters at home and hope to then continue with a home birth. Only got to 1cm (apparently cervix still open from last birth). As soon as they start the induction I was not allowed home, I did escape as they were short staffed over a bank holiday and then returned to start the drip. Anyway, all the best and remember to try pineapple, raspberry leaf tea, curry and you know the other one!
  20. Thank you all very much, goodbye steriliser!
  21. Fantastic thread! My second was a nightmare, two weeks late, hormone drip in the end, very far from the planned home birth! Good luck and let us know how it goes!
  22. Hi there, I cannot remember when I can stop using the Avent steriliser to sterilise babies bottles? Hubbie thinks 12 months, however not sure. When did you stop using it? Thanks in advance
  23. Firstly congratulations. I have a nine month old and a 4 year old and there is not enough hours in the day! Agree with the girls sharing the bath (maybe put toddler in first and then when water is cooler the baby can jump in). My girls always have shared the bath. Their time for bonding or splashing me! I made sure that I always read my older one her bedtime story and always made special time just for me and her. Also, sending some time just with daddy, i.e., watering the plants etc She would also get the baby changer ready and also loved being dressed like her baby sister. I would always be in the park, baby getting fresh air and the toddler getting rid of excess steam and finishing off with a relaxing walk home. Good luck, but the months have rolled by so fast, just enjoy.
  24. Thanks everyone for your wise words. It is a bit shocking how quickly they progress from milk to food! I am now feeling much more confident, so thank you once again.
  25. Hi there, I have an 8 month old girl who is loving food! She likes to feed herself, which is fine, she can handle wholemeal toast, pineapple strips etc. Can she eat cream cheese, hard cheese? Can she have baked beans on toast, eggs on toast? Also, what is an idea packed lunch/picnic for her? Sorry for all these questions, but cannot really get an answer from the food books.
