Just wanted to add that Arran was great today - turned up when he said he would, within a couple of hours of calling him, got us out of trouble and all for a reasonable price too. Thank you.

We lived in one (behind Horniman Museum)a few years ago and are big fans of them. Flexible accommodation, lots of storage (I think, certainly compared to new builds and even better than the 30s semis - which tend to only have an understairs cupboard), easy to maintain/level rear gardens (we weren't/aren't big gardeners, usually off street parking and don't recall having any problem with noise from the neighbours - with a young family (like ours at the time) on one side and an elderly couple on the other.

For what its worth - I think the lodger should have gone on 25/9 on the basis of both being given notice to move out BY 25/9 AND the 25/9 being the last day of her tenancy. Still being there on 26th of the month, is the 1st day of the start of the new period/month.

And another recommendation for Paul ... quick, easy, minimal fuss, very accommodating. I'm sure we'll end end up using his services again and would have no hesitation in doing so.

Or it might be easier to identify the Agent letting the place and let them know. Alot of people/Landlords will have a 'Check Out' report done, which should include excessive rubbish being left behind and then the outgoing tenants can be charged the cost of disposing of it from their deposit.

Am hoping someone might work for or perhaps be aware of a physiotherapy, osteopathy or chiropractic practice (or similar) who would consider providing a work experience or shadowing placement for a 6th form student (for a few days in June), who is doing all he can to bolster his statement for his UCAS application. He is DBS/CRB checked. Any leads would be much appreciated.

Charities that takes tents and crutches
tllm2 replied to ricci's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Following this with interest - we have some crutches that need a good home and are yet to find somewhere that would like them. -
Have been given a tall, well established umbrella plant - which isn't looking in great health and I'd very much like to save, if I can. I'll try and post a photo - but its very tall, woody, thin and straggly. Any help/advice welcome on how I might be able to transform it (over time) into a shorter, bushier, healthier version of itself.

tllm2 replied to Malcolm's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I remember her - I'm pretty sure she lived in the last house in Nutbrook, just before the flats, not that I can shed any light on where she might be now .... sorry But what a blast from the past ............ -
Recommendation for any local-ish car boot sales?
tllm2 replied to Sarahbeee's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
This one is just 5 mins on (less maybe) from Bromley South Station/The Glades and is hugely popular. http://www.hayesstfarm.co.uk/hayes-street-farm-boot-fairs.html -
Knowing what a well travelled bunch you are .... wondered whether anyone has any recent recommendations for New York restaurant for a birthday meal. Having googled it, the lists are endless. Type of cuisine - not fussy, but fairly formal Price - mid range/ideally no 2nd mortgage required If it was within walking distance of 49th and Lexington that would be an added bonus
