  1. Another recommendation for Damages - particularly the first series - gripping stuff!
  2. Your department's being 'downsized' and we're gonna have to 'let you go'... :-S
  3. This from Jamie Oliver's 30 minute meals. Love it! http://www.mydaily.co.uk/2010/10/19/jamie-olivers-30-minute-meals-jools-pregnant-pasta/

  5. The Chinese supermarkets in either Rye Ln or Brixton market usually stock crab.
  6. Most schools are understandably strict about not having mobile phones in school. However, in practice, I think most kids do have them. It certainly gives me peace of mind to be able to contact my two if they're late coming home. If you do decide to get one, get a very cheap or second hand one, in case it gets lost/nicked!
  7. I came across this website and thought I'd share.:) http://www.dayoutwiththekids.co.uk/things-to-do/Brixton
  8. I've PM'ed you re lessons.
  9. My kids went there several years ago and were very happy. Why don't you go on one of their tours? Looks like there's one tomorrow. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?29,872068,872068#msg-872068
  10. Puerto Pollenca in Majorca has a very good reputation for family-friendly holidays with young children. Most of the main tour operators seem to offer holidays there. http://www.thomson.co.uk/destinations/europe/spain/majorca/puerto-pollensa/holidays-puerto-pollensa.html
  11. Stagecoach at Bessemer Grange? http://www.stagecoach.co.uk/dulwich/classes-locations-and-times.html
  12. The only two towns with stations on Lake Garda are Desenzano and Peschiera. Desenzano is on the west side of the lake and Peschiera's at the south east. Peschiera is nice, but you could also consider Lasize, Bardolino or Garda just a little further up the lake. They are all easily accessible from Peschiera rail station by bus, the furthest, Garda, about 30 mins. Both Bardolino and Garda have lots of hotels and restaurants on the lakeside. We stayed at this hotel in Garda a few years back. Highly recommended! http://www.hotel-perla-garda.it/en/index.php

  14. If they were displayed with other uncooked sausages, I would say they are almost certainly raw and therefore do need cooking.http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/content/knowhow/glossary/chorizo/
  15. Like I said, you should try all the mattresses before buying. The one we went for is very comfortable and fine for occasional sleepovers.
  16. Could this be an AS result (i.e. after 1st year of sixth form)? Just asking, because everyone in my daughter's class at another local school did similarly badly after 1st year of applied science. They can still improve the overall A level result with better exam scores and good coursework in the final year.
  17. Another recommendation for Ikea. We got a Lycksele Lovas a while back and it's been great - very comfortable! I think it helps that you can choose between three or four different mattresses depending on your firmness preference. http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/categories/series/07467/
  18. Another recommendation for Eynsford. We've only ever had drinks at the Plough, but I would definitely give it a try for lunch. Lots of pleasant walking in the area, along with the wonderful Lullingstone Roman villa. http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/daysout/properties/lullingstone-roman-villa/
  19. There are various Ramblers groups you could look at if you want to some company and/or route suggestions. http://www.ramblers.co.uk/groups/listByArea.php
  20. I may have dreamt this, but wasn't the Dalai Lama once a judge on Austalian Masterchef?
  21. Haven't tried them, but this looks potentially interesting. http://www.housebites.com/
  22. Down House (Charles Darwin's home) is an easy drive away with a choice of good walks in the area.

    cv's

If you don't have much experience as a TEfl teacher, maybe you could try doing some voluntary work (assisting at a language school or something similar) - highlight that in your CV along with transferable skills from your previous jobs. Good luck!
  24. Another recommendation for Oven Pride. But be warned it's pretty strong stuff. When I last used it, I put the oven racks into the bag provided and some of the cleaning solution leaked out, marking my wooden worktop. Having said that, if used properly and with caution it's very effective at shifting all that burnt on grime!
