  1. I agree Minder. We're also in the new CPZ and it's wonderful to actually be able to park in our street during working hours. In addition to the neighbouring Lambeth CPZ, we also noticed a big influx of cars when the Judith Kerr primary school opened. They advertise on their website that plenty of free parking is available in neighbouring streets!
  2. We received a letter yesterday saying the CPZ will go live on April 25.
  3. Thanks for that Minder. Do you know the diverted route the 42 will take while the roadworks are taking place?
  4. Barcelona looks very do-able by train. http://www.seat61.com/Spain.htm#.VtGmJ_DfWK0
  5. My son had orthodontic treatment at King's dental school 6 or 7 years ago and the whole experience was excellent.
  6. Brew Dog's Nanny State scored highly in a recent Guardian review of alcohol free beers. http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2016/jan/13/alcohol-free-beer-best-worst-taste-test-supermarket
  7. Mrs Robinson. Lovely, eclectic range of furniture, lighting, gifts etc
  8. I don't think there's a direct Thameslink line from Herne Hill to London Bridge. You'll probably have to change at Blackfriars or go directly from either East or North Dulwich.

The completed section leading into Waterloo Road from St George's Circus is now so narrow that bus drivers frequently have to mount the kerb just to navigate their way through!

Maybe the OP should edit the title of his/her post? I assumed policemen had been shot when I first read it.
  11. Lidl's Peckham had a big pile of whole Serrano hams at ?39.99 each the last time I went in. A bit too upmarket for me!
  12. Food waste should go into brown wheelie bin with your garden waste, Callie. The brown bins are collected weekly, whereas the general waste ones are alternate weeks.
  13. Over a million for this "doer-upper". Insane! http://www.primelocation.com/for-sale/details/36071674?search_identifier=80a3a2575209af783afd1ef69d1b650a#4T3s4RvWMjGkylTV.97
  14. There are signs around Sunray Gardens in SE24 saying that an exotic pet had been found here. It doesn't say what kind of pet but that it had been taken to the RSPCA animal hospital in Putney.
  15. Ruskin Park seems very dog friendly. Also lots of well behaved pooches and owners. If you go right to the top of Greendale, it's a short walk down past the Fox on the Hill next to King's College hospital.
  16. A call by a member of the public was apparently assessed by the ambulance service as "low priority". http://www.thisislocallondon.co.uk/news/13337688.Pregnant_woman_who_lost_her_baby_in_Peckham_street_attack_waited_hour_for_ambulance_that_never_showed/
  17. The late night Chinook sighting may be connected to the Queen's birthday today which will feature a fly past of the Red Arrows, two Chinooks among others.
  18. I'm a big fan of solid griddle plans like these https://www.google.co.uk/#q=grill+pan+bbq&imgrc=qGjVJtb5bzrFjM%253A%3Bundefined%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fcdn01.ovonni.com%252Fuploads%252F2014%252F201411%252F20141107%252Febay-source-img%252F1415324320223-P-751900.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.ebay.co.uk%252Fbhp%252Fbbq-cast-iron-griddle%3B1024%3B1024 for halloumi/griddled veg. Maybe something like this or similar would work on the BBQ.
  19. Drinking alcohol on buses is banned but some people still do it. Likewise using mobile phones while driving. If there was a ban on eating/littering on public transport people would still flout the rules because there's little or no enforcement.

  21. Dorchester Court is a fine example of 1930s architecture and should be preserved. The behaviour of the landlord is scandalous.
