  1. He's not local if he thinks that school is on Friern Road
  2. IT'S BACK OPEN ON THURSDAY!!!! >:D<
  3. I was told by the new Manager that it was staying as the Co-op. It is being taken over by a new set of people and they're giving it a revamp. They said it is going to be stocked up a lot better than it was before. I really liked the Co-op and the people running it (regardless of whether or not they spoke English very well) have always been pleasant and friendly. The Co-op and the Turkish Shop further up the road have very friendly and likeable staff.
  4. There's nothing wrong with paranoia in this day and age. Better to be safe than sorry I say. I think it's well dodgy for a man to take a video of kids playing in a playground. One time a friend of mine saw a guy with a camera on the bus, he held it under a girls skirt as she was walking upstairs. Who knows what kind of opportunity this guy was waiting for?
  5. I reckon we're hot on the heels of Uncle Sam... recession is on the cards, House Prices will drop even further and things will be bleak for the next couple of years...>:D
  6. I like the Sea Cow although the last time myself and the boyfriend went in there, the fish kinda tasted like bleach and we both had the squits for about a week after.... I haven't been in there since, but before then, we had some lovely fish n chips, maybe they are just overly enthusiastic about cleaning, which is a good thing really...
  7. No, I think you're thinking of a dingle-berry? A Clinker, according to google is: Hardened volcanic lava; A scum of oxide of iron formed in forging; A very hard brick used for paving customarily made in the Netherlands; One who clinks or an item that clinks, hence fetters are also called clinkers; Clink, derived from clinch, hence one who clinches or that clinches It also was my dogs name...B)
  8. Let me tell you of one of my few visits to sanies. My boyfriend was waiting for ages to pull out of one of the parking spaces. There was a big queue because it was Christmas time. This absolute trollop of a woman was so quick to close up the gap for fear the boyfriend would come out of the parking space. She was very brazen about it too, looking at us all smug like, that she went into the back of the car in front of her. I had the last laugh and I rolled down the window so she was sure to hear me.
  9. Hi Camberwell Oz, Which bank has the texting service? I like the sound of that, Do you have to pay to get the service? Thanks! :)
  10. There was a stabbing on Old Kent Road last night apparently: Click here for the article.
  11. My advice to them is to buy one of these to put on top of the cakes & sandwiches: http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/9940/f001bp5.jpg I say this because I went in there one sunny day only to find a blue bottle buzzing around the cakes and sandwiches and he landed on a hummus sandwich and was walking all over it. I also think they could improve their soft drink menu. Maybe start stocking that Whole Earth Organic Range, like the lemonade etc. I love them, but maybe that's just me. I would like to see them do well.
  12. Hello Everyone, There has been a lot on here about burglaries and I didn't want to hyjack anyone's thread with my query so I started a new one. Those of you who have had the misfortune of having been burgled, I have this question for you. Please can you list the factors in your opinion (if there were any other than just bad luck) that may have led to you being burgled. For example: 1. Window left open 2. Ground floor flat. 3. Garden flat. 4. Shared Entrance. etc. I am just trying to gauge just what kind of scenarios burglers go for, or what are the more vulnerable property types and if there is a definite pattern. The reason I am asking is because I am looking to getting on the property ladder some time in the next 6 months or so. I love the idea of a ground floor property because I am a cyclist & a garden is always a plus. Having said this, i feel very uncomfortable with the idea of being on the Ground Floor and paranoid about burglaries (or break-ins for different reasons) I am a lone female... (Maybe i should lay off watching Crime Watch :-$) Your answers/thoughts/advice much appreciated.
  13. I have complained to Royal Mail recently because they were leaving parcels outside the door! They have done this to our neighbours as well... They said they would clean up their act, now we just get the red cards :-S
  14. The owner needs to offer a better hourly rate and then he might attract some decent staff. This is what happens when you pay your staff peanuts...
