The large Co-Op store on the same side as Londis was certainly there in 1970-71 as I worked there in the cashiers department on loan from the large store in Peckham. I think its now an estate agent
The steak house in Camberwell was called The Rochester. Also remember Never on a Sunday, it was a good steak and fish restaurant but only for special occasions, as previously said we did not eat out so often in those times.
Another elite shoe shop was round the corner from Jones & Higgins near the pie & mash shop Spencers, opposite BHS was a clothes shop called Worth, they also had an Etams.
