Bollox! It's all about a firm arse, strong arms and plenty of stamina.
  2. Jeremy, I agree. It does help with that horrible feeling of being a victim. My ex-bf was a 6ft3 nutter, so no amount of training on my part would have stopped him, but I did feel better kicking and punching stuff!
  3. I had an ex-bf attack me out of the blue about 8 years ago when I was at a vulnerable stage of my life and the feeling of being a victim was very hard to cope with. My answer was to get back into the gym and on the weights, plus I went back to taekwondo and boxing training. After a couple of months I found the physical changes I underwent really helped me to get over the horrible feeling of being a victim. I turned pretty macho for a bit, but I think that was the reaction I needed to get over what happened. Maybe you could sign up for white collar boxing to help build your confidence back up.
  4. I think that was just the athletics. They do lots of other sports too. Or maybe 'The Games' is different from the Commonwealth Taekwondo Championships. Sorry, I'm just a mum, not really up on all the other info. I know it's a step towards the Olympics and is a very serious competition.
  5. I think the point is that the McCanns courted publicity and funding for their cause. If they had been less public, or raised less money from so many members of the public, then maybe less people would feel they had a right to comment.
  6. Some more info on Daniel and his competition success: http://www.lsbu.ac.uk/sports/about/news/060110.shtml
  7. Just been told by Daniel that he needs to raise a total of ?1600 and any sponsors will be mentioned on the GLL and South Bank Uni website where he's studying and for whose team he competes as well as the advert on his suit. Here is some more info on the costs: http://www.britishtaekwondo.org.uk/index.php?pagename=british-taekwondo-control-board-news&news_id=357
  8. Daniel will need to drum up some sponsorship, so if any local businesses would like an advert sewn onto his TKD suit let me know. It will be televised, not sure what channels though.
  9. Just to let anyone whose kids attended his Taekwondo classes in Dulwich Leisure Centre or Waverley know, that he's been selected to represent England in the Commonwealth Taekwondo Championships in India in January. We are all really proud of him. Edited for typo and to change Commonwealth games to Commonwealth Taekwondo Championships - sorry for any confusion
  10. I'm Catwoman - I quite like that one.
  11. Was the door to the apartment unlocked? If so why di the alleged abductor take the child out of the window?
  12. When I lived in Elephant & Castle our local community centre had the names and addresses of all the local elderly or disabled people and they used to deliver a food box every Christmas. Not sure how they managed to get their details, but it was organised by the over 50 club, so maybe they just knew them all. They used to get the younger users of the centre to deliver the parcels. Maybe you guys could organise this through the local community centre.
  13. Really sorry to hear this. You're not a small guy either so I'm a bit shocked.
  14. Sedgewick, or he could just be an annoying tw@t!

  16. Sounds good. Do we need to put our names on an elist or anything?
  17. What about a picture?
  18. Lol, never thought you'd be stuck for words RosieH!
  19. Succeed. Because I always think of 'suck seed' as in teabag and the kind of people who say, 'I will succeed' are always the ones you want to imagine teabagging! Lol
  20. Lol, thank you for your forthright answer.

  22. Hugo - you started it by calling me a man hater: "When they get the reaction, they launch into a man-hating rant. First IV with some scarcely concealed misandry about climaxing, and then DJKQ tossing subtelty out of the window", so I made a joke about your inability to satisfy your wife. No biggie, so stop getting all huffy and get yourself a large G&T or prozac!
  23. Trains from London Bridge to Peckham not running, but ok to Forest Hill.
