  1. Absolutely not. They treat their staff appallingly and the owner is an arch-Brexiteer.
  2. Not a good idea. If they're "indoor cats" you should probably keep it that way, although I'm not convinced that's a good idea for their wellbeing. Preferably, put in a cat flap and train them to use it.
  3. Personally I've never seen this happen, although I don't doubt it does. Banning them in public places doesn't really help with the push to make/help people quit smoking though. 4. I stopped smoking 8 months ago and have been using one of these: https://www.aspirecig.com/aspire-kits/aspire-kits479.html They take pods, so you don't have to fart around with bottles of liquids and coils, which I found too much of a faff. It's more expensive than the usual vaping methods but still LOADS cheaper than cigarettes. It's really worked for me!
  5. Admin - please could the two threads be combined now? Many thanks.
  6. I had hoped we'd seen the last of this creepy thread.
  7. Not really, no. "Hating" such a thing is a rather futile waste of good outrage IMO. Metallic Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Don't you just hate things called Ye Olde Sweete > shop or variations on the theme?
  8. I don't have any advice but good luck! The NHS needs to be cherished and protected from the predators.
  9. Don't you realise this is the East Dulwich Forum?! derwentgrove Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- why the rush to judgment here?
  10. The problem you might have is getting a skip company to deliver on a Saturday and take away the same day. Worth checking that first.
  11. One can hope. DuncanW Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > "Anymore snowflake comments in this thread & you > wont get a response out of me" > > Is that a promise?
  12. Far from it Sue, hardly anything has changed. Sue Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I thought Sainsbury's were supposed to have gone > plastic free for their loose fruit and veg??
  13. Yes, thanks hazenunhead, that's what I generally do but they're encouraging people to use a plastic bag anyway. hazelnunhead Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > edcam - just to note that with the loose veg (very > limited in Sainsbury's) - you can put it straight > into your basket / trolley and weigh it loose - > you dont have to put it into a bag at all. 14. Went to Sainsbury's last night, excited about having been told on here that they were now selling their fruit and veg loose. They had a few courgettes, carrots, cabbages and easy peeler oranges but hardly anything else being sold loose that you couldn't buy before without it being covered in plastic. They expect you to then put your things in a plastic bag (thus defeating the point of having loose produce) and weigh and put a sticker on them. None of the scales or label printers were working. All of the new self-scan tills were closed and there were large queues at the very few staffed tills and self-checkouts. This on a Monday night, when you should be in and out in no time. If they don't sort this out, they're going to make themselves irrelevant very quickly.
  15. I think the climate issue is more pressing than the noise one. As others have said, we live in London, where we have multiple airports. They?re not going to close them any time soon.

  17. Ooh, they're really good. Peckham has been infinitely better for restaurants than ED for a while now.

When did they do this? DulwichFox Wrote: > WHAT !!! Sainsbury's are the First Supermarket to > Ban Plastic Bags for loose fruit and Vegetables.. > > > DulwichFox

    Olive oil

One of the best I've found lately is Olio del Castello extra virgin. Waitrose do it for ?8.75 a litre, which is pretty reasonable and only pennies more expensive than cheap (and not very good) brands like Filippo Berio.
  20. Calm down.
  21. "The low classes". Where did that google search take you, The Lexicon of Jacob Rees-Mogg?! :-) I read the other day that MLE has become so prevalent, so quickly that by 2040, the cockney accent will be gone completely. jimbo1964 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > edcam Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > It's far more likely that their accents were > MLE. > > I had to look that up: > > Multicultural London English (abbreviated MLE) is > a sociolect of English that emerged in the late > twentieth century. 22. Good luck Jules! Ignore these negative people. As fishbiscuits says, this forum can be toxic and the usual suspects are out in force on this thread for some reason. julesheaton Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Thanks for the support guys! 23. It's far more likely that their accents were MLE.
  24. Completely agree. This is not a progressive step. redpost Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Nice find which nails it on the head, because so > few people will subscribe for the service then the > running costs of the scheme will be shared by > fewer subscribers.
