  1. I'm amazed at how washing your hands regularly seems to be a new idea. This virus has come along at a great time for the Tories and other Brexiteers. Now they can blame everything on that instead of the real cause of our impending woes.
  2. So have I and it has definitely gone downhill. They rarely ran out of things at one point. Nowadays, there are always multiple items out of stock. That's not the customers' fault, what a daft thing to say. seenbeen Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I've shopped there every week since it > opened....it has not gone downhill. Whiteness?

  6. I seem to have touched a nerve here. Of course racists have always been with us (and by the way, there is nothing "petty" about racism) but Brexit has emboldened them. That's obvious. I have no idea of the local figures re leave/remain voters but it only takes a few examples like this to encourage this kind of behaviour. Brexit has brought out the worse in our national psyche. 7. The inevitable fallout from bloody Brexit.
  8. It?s the racists.
  9. The racists are having a lovely time.
  10. No, because it was a stupid, ill-informed decision. dbboy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Can't you accept the democratic decision made by > the people in 2016.
  11. Dulwich Fox clearly demonstrating here why referenda are a terrible idea. 'Mrs. Brown's Boys' won best comedy at the NTAs last night. Brexit in a nutshell.
  12. In short, no, there isn't. We have a similar problem. You can check if a car is taxed. If it is then there is nothing you can do unless the car is vandalised, flat tyres etc.
  13. Poor Dulwich Fox. Still clinging to the lies he?s been told and posting links to the Daily Mail. Extraordinary how easy they found it to trick you into believing their guff. It?s tragic.
  14. Unfortunately Dulwich Fox personifies the ill-informed attitude of a vast number of people in this country, who fundamentally misunderstand the nature of our EU membership. This mythical "masters of our own destiny" bollox is what people were told to believe and believe it they did, in their droves. Now it will be interesting to see who they blame as we struggle through the next phase and beyond. I'll never fully understand how so many people were hoodwinked into accepting the gun they were offered and then happily shot themselves in the foot.
  15. Still the creepiest thread that ever was.
  16. LOL! FreyaMikaelson Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > A bitter divide created by the left. All they are > is bitter and intolerant.
  17. I posted on this thread in November about the poor stocking in this store and the situation has definitely deteriorated since then. On any given visit over the last few moths, I've been unable to get several items that I've wanted. None of them particularly obscure items, either. They're especially bad at keeping their fresh herbs and their dried herbs/spices fully stocked. I wonder if this is a problem that's peculiar to this store or all of Sainsburys. I don't really visit any others, so it's hard to tell. Edited to add that I've never had any problems with their staff. This is a management/stock keeping issue.
  18. They generally don't collect Christmas trees on the usual collection day. It isn't the usual bin men/refuse trucks but a Southwark flatbed van/truck. Penguin68 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It would be courteous only to put them out on your > collection day, rather than prematurely littering > the streets with desiccated trees which can blow > about, but otherwise on the pavement, I suppose, > or just inside your front gate if you have one. > Obviously the bin-men must be able to judge they > are out for collection and disposal. 19. Good grief, get a grip.
  20. They were out collecting round Camberwell this morning. We'd already chopped ours up and put it in the brown bin.
  21. arturo Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Silk Road is pretty good for food from Xinxiang, > but has gone downhill a bit. Not in my experience. Have been going for years and it's still as good as ever.
  22. Yep, they're definitely rubbish at keeping fully stocked. They've always run out of half of what we need.
  23. If you don't have a brown bin you're supposed to buy the brown sacks from the council. I know, incredibly big backward step there from Southwark council. Most people will just put everything in the green bins, therefore more landfill.
  24. You can't be a remainer and vote Tory. Actually, you cannot be a decent human being and vote Tory. Labour are in a parlous state and a vote for them is a vote for antisemitism. All depends on the ward where you live. We are in Camberwell/Peckham, one of the safest Labour seats in the country. So I will be voting Green to give them a boost. The LibDems are pointless and not trustworthy btw.
  25. How big do you imagine the "marketing budget" of tiny local businesses like this is? I haven't seen the mural but regardless of its merits (or lack thereof), this is one of the most curmudgeonly threads on the forum for some time.
