  1. Yup - the estate agent should take it down if you call them.

Agree. It's creepy and somewhat uncomfortable.
  3. You'll get used to it of you don't obsess about it like some on this forum. I've lived here since 1995 and I quite like it now, oddly.
  4. It's a shame there are very few good stalls. I thought after all this time that it might have become much better but it's mostly tat.

There is a world of difference between that sort of heinous misspelling and an iPhone autocorrect my friend.
  6. Otta - we're you using your phone in the cinema? Shame on you. I'd have given you a clip round the ear for such antisocial antics.

    Dr. Who

Instant thread fail not only for posting on the wrong day but by calling it "Dr." Who.
  8. 185 to Oval, then Northern line.
  9. Although this sounds worrying and I hope nobody was hurt, I have to admit it is one of the best starts to a thread I've seen here in a while.
  10. Ontherun Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Much much better thanks & I'll look out for the > 24hrs in A&E programme - sounds great! Glad to hear it. The show is on C4 (should find it on catch up) and is all filmed in King's. The way it's put together makes for some of the best storytelling on TV and it's incredibly moving.

  12. Hope all ok Ontherun. I also think they're brilliant, despite being overstretched through no fault of their own. 24 Hours in A&E is such a brilliant programme - worth a look if you haven't seen it. Better than most tv dramas.
  13. Thanks for posting that DB&B - I thought it sounded unlikely.
  14. I moved to ED from the Walworth Road 20 years ago, so it seemed most definitely un-rough to me, so it's all relative! It's certainly become more posh since then. My 86 year old mother visits frequently and always insists on saying "ooh, it's very up and coming round here" but the truth is that it upped and came quite some time ago.

Ah - the old putting words into someone's mouth phenomenon. Of course I don't think that, what an absurd suggestion. I just hope that it doesn't have a negative effect on the other charity shops, that's all.
  16. James Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The "reasons why" are as bonkers and nonsensical > as the entire notion of petitioning a charity shop > not to open. Well I don't think they are. Just wait and see.

No, I don't, so there's that theory out the window.

Perhaps you should attempt to improve your level of ability to comprehend and read the reasons why.

    rye lane

Snapped on the train between Farringdon and Peckham Rye last week:
  21. Christine should tell us who she has bought Christmas trees for this year.

I'm shocked that people think it's a good idea to dilute the stock of the charity shops that are already there, whose trade would suffer as a result of yet another shop arriving. But that clearly doesn't bother you.

  25. If there's a petition I'll sign it. So I expect would the people running the ample number of charity shops already in ED.
