  1. Realise this is as stereotypical ED as it comes… I’d love to get our kitchen aid serviced - it works well but is a bit klunky after 10 years. KA’s customer service is largely non existent after 5 years. any specialists out there? Bound to be a market for this kinda thing round here ….
  2. Thanks for all the interest, will postpone the search now thanks
  3. Hi there! We are searching for a kind and friendly nanny to help with our after school arrangements from Sept / Oct 2024 - we live super close to ED station / near Peckham rye. We’ll need 4 days (Monday to thurs) after school until after dinner time, (3.20-7.20 more or less) with the option for additional baby sitting or holiday cover too 🙂 Our kids (10,7)are kind, friendly, funny and like cooking / sports / tv 😉 / arts / reading and having friends over. A typical afternoon might include the school pick up, play date or sports or music activity, or a play date & prepping dinner and any light organisation for the kids next day. Oh and we have a little weird cat called Elsie please don’t hesitate to contact me if you’d like to discuss! Jennie -
  4. Thanks v much, great to see the donations increasing, it all counts!
  5. Thank you. It is genuinely concerning how many people are impacted and living on the fringes financially, whilst needing time to grieve. X
  6. Sharing this tragically sad story about Kyla who has left behind three children, whilst her husband struggles to stay financially secure. Even if it?s a few pennies or pounds, it would be wonderful to support Fabian at this time. Fabian is a Southwark bin man and has been for many years, so please click the just giving link below and support if you can. Thanks 😊 https://www.southwarknews.co.uk/news/kayla-williams-fundraiser-set-up-to-pay-for-funeral-as-bereft-husband-tells-of-his-agony-self-isolating-in-the-home-where-she-died/ https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/kaylawilliamspeckham?utm_term=aErJAdkpA
  7. Hello all, I'm proper late to the party but super keen to join the group, it was a lifesaver when I had my first almost 3 years ago. Second due October. Feeling massive as well - I swear my norks need their own postcode and it's not a good thing! I'm not sure I'll be able to make a night out much before I start Mat leave, but hugely keen to hunt out cake coffee and sanity! All the best, Jennie (Oglander road)
  8. So we're over the winter (here's hoping) and we're thinking about installing a woodburner fire in the living room which means clearing the chimney, purchasing and installation. Not sure what we're talking about cost but if anyone is willing to share indicative costs and recommendations that would be great! Cheers ATC
  9. Hi Alice, there isn't much difference in replacing / refurb. Refurb involves a lot of work often and the level and time can be the same as replacing. But clearly if your windows are in reasonably good nick (ours were beyond saving) then it is nice to keep them. Our new windows all in were about ?750 per window which is really good value as this includes painting.
  10. We can also recommend Steve and team's work. They undertook full replacement sashes in 6 windows (which included a 3 window bay). The work was impeccable and the price reasonable. Highly recommended, great bunch of guys. Wish we had done it sooner! Our house is much less drafts, quieter and most of all with bloody nice new windows if I do say so myself. Jennie
  11. Another recommendation for Brad and team. He's professional and the team did a great job of our bedroom - great finish. The chaps were super clean and tidy. Thanks for the recommendation of Aaron who plastered the ceiling. Cheers guys!
  12. Not a restaurant but Ali Baba's juices on rye lane just in the lane next to the bussey building is great - he uses the adventurous fruits (dudhi fruit anyone?)from the mkt to make delish concoctions as well as some more regular juices. http://alibabajuice.tumblr.com Ali is a super nice fella as well
  13. We are in a small terrace, built a dormer out the back of the house above the now bathroom (was a bedroom). Didn't have to lower ceilings, got a sizable 3rd room and kept the loft space at the front of the house for storage.
