  1. Thanks for the info. Have called RSPCA and now have to try establish its visiting pattern. There would be a greater chance of success if I were able to trap it, but have nothing to do that with.
  2. Is anyone aware of some kind of fox rescue place that operates in this area? A fox who comes into my garden is in such a bad way that it either needs treating or putting out of its misery: No fur on any part of its body, apart from its head and legs, and a suppurating wound on its forehead.
  3. There's an M&S practically next door to where I work: I can confirm that their wines are neither better nor more competively priced than the places that already sell wine along LL, Nicholas and the other place whose name escapes me.
  4. I noticed some roadworks between Nigel Road and the top of Rye Lane this morning, and my heart sank too. Whatever they intend doing, the temporary traffic lights are back causing the inevitable delays. Traffic backed up to East Dulwich Road this morning. The vans didn't say Thames Water though. Those rogue tarmac ramps down opposite the station appear to have been conveniently forgotten about by the council.
  5. "ps sorry - I don't know anything about Harlow except I somehow know I wouldn't want to live there...." I expect my family will be breathing a sigh of relief to hear you won't be moving in next door any time soon.
  6. Afraid not, but I do sympathise. My neighbour had her family round yesterday who have a staffie type dog. As I was trying to cut the hedge between our gardens, it kept barking just the other side to me. They could hear me working and did nothing until fuck off came roaring out my mouth. Only then did they make an attempt to quieten it. People just don't seem to think about the impact their noise has on other people :-( Hope someone here has some rather more constructive advice for you.
  7. Puzzled: There are links to some pics of Nana, 4 posts up.
  8. Gordon lucked out with you, CS :-) Yesterday, I put two eggs out onto the back lawn just to see what would come along and make off with them. Within just a few minutes, Crow came down to do a reccy. It's amazing how delicate that large beak can be, as it managed to take firm hold of one and fly off with an egg intact. Not long after, the second egg disappeared in a flap of black wings. This morning, I put some bread out and again Crow was first taker. It stuffed its beak with as many pieces as it could load up with then strode over to the bird bath and dunked it in the water before flying off. How curious, I've never seen that happen.
  9. I live with a veritable flock of spiders.
