  1. I have been having weekly PT sessions with Dave since mid 2022 but 2023 was the year it all started to come together. Under Dave’s gently guidance (and reminders!) I have stepped up my activity levels and consistently worked at my strength training (with the aid of his brilliant personalised workouts). I also made some small changes to the way I eat which started to make a difference to how I felt and then I participated in the 30 day challenge with Dave in November. This was great timing for Christmas and gave me the focus and motivation to keep going – resulting in a 1 stone weight loss since June 2023! The support from Dave and being part of the group for the challenge definitely made it easier to stay on track. Sign me up for the next one Dave!
  2. I started training with Dave last May – my goal was to get fitter and stronger. We have weekly sessions in the park and I really enjoy training outside. Dave’s approach is holistic and flexible and he works with me to focus on what’s important to me. He’s devised really helpful workouts for me in between sessions which has enabled me to build my strength gradually. He’s great work with, really personable and passionate about he does, he changes things up regularly and makes it fun too. He’s introduced me to boxing which I had never done before and it’s honestly now one of the best parts of my PT sessions!
  3. Another recommendation for David and Patrick. Despite being the busiest roofer in SE London, I contacted David yesterday as our gutters were overflowing with the heavy rain - he responded straightaway and he and Patrica arrived super early and it's all done. They are a fantastic team, we have used them for all our roof work for a good 5 years now - wouldn't work with anyone else and I can't recommend him highly enough. Thanks again David and Patrick.
  4. From the moment Brian arrived to quote for our job (bathroom and spare room, whose ceiling was a bit of a state!), we knew we were in good hands. He carefully sized up the work we needed doing and, with a few carefully-chosen questions, made us re-think several of our plans - all in the cause of a good finish. After we'd agreed the scope of the work, Brian video'd the job and within a few hours, he got back to us with a quote. D-day came. We'd cleared out the spare room and the bathroom to allow Malachy to crack on. However we'd underestimated just how much prep Malachy would do to protect the rest of the flat. Every carpeted surface in the entrance hall was covered with plastic. There'd be a lot of filling and levelling and a lot of dust! But he ensured that outside of the areas being painted, the dust would be kept to a minimum. This attention to detail augured well for the next week or so as Malachy worked patiently and diligently to achieve a fantastic job. The quality of the finish was nothing short of excellent. But the best was to come. We were out of London the day the job was finished. Brian left a couple of voice messages to confirm that the work was done and we had our flat back to ourselves. We arrived back to find that not only had they cleared away all of the plastic dust protection, but they'd wiped and hoovered thoroughly into the bargain. So, a truly professional crew. But, just as importantly, thoroughly likeable, decent and respectful people. They cracked on with the job and didn't get in the way. But when our paths crossed, it was a pleasure to have them in the flat. Many thanks, Brian and Malachy, for a first class job at a reasonable price.
  5. Another recommendation for David. He quoted on Monday for the job and came on Thursday to do it. He and Patrick are delightful, arrived on time, did the job with the minimum of fuss and for a fair price. Also investigated another issue for us and provided photos to explain the job before quoting. Excellent, really lovely guy and wouldn't use anyone else!
  6. I have been asked by Dad (who grew up in West Dulwich) if anyone remembers what happened to the Claud Butler shop on Lordship Lane? He was a keen cyclist in his youth and used to go to the shop on a regular basis? Thanks.
