Baby Ko (a boy), at the grand old age of 6 months, has a rather long-ish fringe and its also getting long at the sides. Bald patch at the back though where he has worn away his hair lying on his back! Just wondering when people first cut their baby's hair? easier with a girl as can just put a hair slide in, but don't think Mr Ko will let me do that to his baby boy! xxx

i also think i read somewhere that there is a scout hut that can be hired out - i think it may be near dulwich common / near the old bt exchange near cox walk?
-
many thanks fuschia xxx

various things i have seen suggested on here in the past: east dulwich community centre (2 halls plus playground at back) wildlife centre (marsden rd?) crystal palace park has a pirate ship or something like that (read about it on this forum!) the herne pub - can the children's area be hired out? try church halls softplay children's cinema (read that somewhere on this forum too)

thanks fuschia! i was actually looking at this on ebay earlier - does it really stay in place??? if a baby rolls over onto it, can't the baby push it over the edge of the bed? i know they wouldn't sell it if it didn't work, but i am finding it hard to understand how it works? love the fact that it can easily be taken on holiday, to gran's etc

gosh it is hard isn't it. i honestly think that you should do whatever works for you. i still let mine fall asleep cuddled up in my arms. i only put him down once he has been asleep in my arms for 20 mins as then i know he's hopefully sound asleep. yes gina would not approve but never mind. whether they sleep thru is really a game of luck. i know people whose first child slept like an angel but the second was a nightmare. big hugs xxx

yes the one on northcross rd above the chemist is very good (well he is with adults but he is such a sweetie that i'm sure he would be fine with kids!)

gosh, why is it soooo hard to choose these things? there are so many different ones and as they cost on average ?30 i don't want to get one i don't like/find useful! does anyone have one they can recommend? should i look out for anything in particular? want one to put on the side of our bed for when baby (6 months old) sleeps in with me for his daytime naps - he won't sleep by himself during the day. alternatively does anyone have one they want to sell on? many thanks xxx

yes i have made lots of mummy friends other than my nct friends. its very easy to meet other mums in ED! i don't have the number still, but google 'nct southwark', which is how i found the details originally. i think the lady who does the bookings is called ann? edited to say this is the link i think and the booking lady's name is alison: http://www.nctpregnancyandbabycare.com/in-your-area/southwark

yes my cats have been fine. i was worried too but it has been fine. the one i thought would be jealous of baby is actually the more considerate of him (the other cat just ignores baby - doesn't like baby disturbing her beauty sleep!) the only time they try to snuggle up with baby is if he is on my lap, so its really my lap they are wanting! they do like his moses basket and pram though, when baby is not in them!

i'm sure the one i did last year was about ?160 for BOTH of us in the couple. there were 6 couples in the group which was a nice number. could you ring up and ask if there are any cheaper courses? ?160 is still quite a lot but the nct classes i did (with tessa in east dulwich) were truly great - very, very informative and managed to sink in (unlike my reading of the books). i was unsure if the classes would be my cup of tea, but i am a complete convert now - really prepared me and made me feel easier about everything that was coming up. could ask lots of questions too. haven't done the nhs classes but i am sure they are fine, so you shouldn't discount that as an option. good luck! x

CONGRATULATIONS FUSCHIA!! great news, you must be thrilled! -
sorry, to make it easier, its on the side of the road where Willow is, at the junction with (i think) fellbrigg rd. was there about 4.30pm so hopefully still there. just editing to say it might not be yours - it was white i think, unless it was inside out and the white was the underside?

its hanging on the black railings on northcross rd near the vintage store x

i am having difficulty sending photos via hotmail lately. it used to let me attach 'photos' and it zipped them for me automatically. now i can only attach 'files' which are really large and can only send 2 at a time. had a guy fixing our computer look at it but he couldn't find the problem. i tried using hotmail windows live, but whoever you send it to can only view the photos real small unless they create an account!! same with picasa (google i think). ideally, i would like a free photo-sharing site that i can limit who has access to my photos. is flickr any good? why is this so difficult??!! i hate technology!!! everyone keeps asking me to send baby photos and this is driving me potty. any recommendations would be very much appreciated xxx

also forgot to say, if she likes a M&P pram and its on offer but she hasn't quite made up her mind, they let you reserve the pram at the sale price and pay a deposit. the deposit is refundable if you later change your mind. i did this during last summer.
-
john lewis also don't stock M&P. the M&P store is almost right on the oxford circus junction, so only 5 mins from john lewis. x

i have a bugaboo bee which i love. lightweight and easy to manoevre around shops, on buses, etc. baby (5 mths old) has always liked sleeping in it. have used it loads (almost daily!) so has been worth it. really nice that baby faces you.
