Plesae can you tell us how the transfer to a Children's Centre for running will affect the services currently provided? As Gussy quite rightly points out, one of the best aspects of the current Peckham Rye One O'Clock Club is its drop in nature and flexibility. Personally I hope that its not going to go the way of scheduled activities at certain times only, which one has to sign up for / apply for a (perhaps free?) place (like what happened I think at the Leapers Rye Oak Centre - at that time, a great number of parents expressed on this forum their dismay at the withdrawal of the free, drop in activities and the introduction of a more rigid schedule and application process put in place). Please can you explain exactly what is planned. Only by knowing this can the local community be engaged and comment on the changes planned - at the moment we seem to be in the dark apart from various rumours. Many thanks

  6. yes they do get very windy as their system has to adjust. i didn't find much difference between brands. i used hipp organic and then aptamil.
  7. i think there is also one that meets at east dulwich community centre on darrell road. there should be some info inside the community centre about the timetable.

Everyone's welcome. The > more the merrier! hi, we will try very hard to make this tomorrow. i have my mum staying with us for the first time in ages this week, but we are usually free thursday afternoons. the plough pub is great for mummy meets - tons of space for prams annd the kids! hopefully see you tomorrow xxx
  9. i've only ever been charged ?5 for my son and that was at Village Way and Headnizm. Both were really nice and good with kids. Village Way give a free first haircut to your child if the parent is a regular there. one friend tells me that her daughter was quoted ?15-20 for her first haircut though. thinks paces vary so do ask for a price idea. i do sometime also do baby ko's hair myself when he is asleep as he is becoming a wriggler now!
  10. could someone tell me please how much sitters.co.uk charge? many thanks
  11. hi guys, i'm also a stay at home mum with a 13 month old. would love to go along to an afternoon get together as we rarely make it out of the house any earlier!! tues and thurs afternoons are good for us. thanks princess for starting this thread. xxx
  12. my husband found an alfa romeo car key half way up landells road this morning. if it is yours, please call him on 07500 083 688. if no one claims it in the next few days, we will hand it into the police station. we thought it might be easier to collect it from us than to have to go to the police station where it can take ages sometimes. thanks
  13. yeah!!!!!!! well done you!! girl or boy and any name? hope you are having a good rest now, take care xxxxx:)):)):))
  14. also how much dinner is he having and has his tummy got enough room for a bottle of milk too? i know baby ko has had times when he has drunk so much milk that his tummy couldn't cope with it and he vomited for that reason. baby ko has a whole bottle of milk straight before bed too, but he has a very early dinner (3 hours earlier!) i think you are doing the right thing in changing things slowly. good luck xxx
  15. could you perhaps try to burp him while he is very sleepy - even if it is say 3 quarters thru the bottle and so he has a quarter of the bottle left to suck on? i know you want o weann him off the bottle but perhaps that could be a short term help. my little one has vomited a couple of times if he hasn't been burped. good luck xx
  16. good luck and hope to hear good news soon! the little one has obviously heard its all snowy out and has decided to stay nice and snug in you tum for a bit! xxx
  17. reading this thread as i dunk biscuits in my cup of tea!! :))
  18. ocado cancelled yesterday's delivery due to the snow, but then the man actualy turned up only about an hour late. what a lovely guy. so maybe they will turn up as the delivery drivers seem pretty determined and the guy was put out that they were texting and emailing to cancel when he was still on his way. good luck x
  19. please can the area outside dulwich medical centre be gritted? its essential to be able to get to the doctors if you are unwell and last year it wasn't gritted and was very slippery. thanks
  20. xmas drinks sound fab. however friday 10th is other half's xmas party so i will have to stay in - not fair (stamps foot!). i could make saturday 11th though, or even thursday 9th. xxx
  21. my little boy (about 7 mths then) stopped crying as soon as we got out the room and was fine afterwards. it did scab over and start to seep about a couple of months later and the gp said it was infected but that is a common problem i think and it didn't bother baby much but i was concerned about it. the little ones have to have so many injections. i thought we had got most of them over but now we are due for 12 month vacs with a booster in 3 months!
  22. good luck. big hugs and kisses to you xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx!!!!!!!!!!
  23. could anyone tell me what time its on please? and whereabouts on lordship lane estate (do you mean the estate near barcelona tapas bar?) many thanks xxx
  24. there's a medicine called ranitidine (google it for more info) that is often useful for infant reflux. my little one had it but i was never sure if it did much but the gp told me it is often used and i had read about it too. its something different to thickeners.
  25. agree with belle that the quest really is good - very light to get in and out of the car. i found the heavier models off-putting as i just knew i would find it a pain putting it in and out of the car.
