Shankley... 1. Agreed, but they still do use fuel, as long as there is a demand, then the drilling will still happen! 2. True, but a bike travelling at 10 mph hitting a person is gonna hurt an innocent pedestrian, if someone walks out in front of a bike then that's there problem, Darwin and all that! 3. At least we agreed on 1 point :-)

Belladonna........... 3 points: 1. Motorbikes use petrol so it's not just 4 wheels! 2. it's bad enough avoiding cyclists when trying to cross the road when there's a green man as it is now, we don't need more colour blind cyclists on our roads trying to kill us! 3. Boris is a crazy MOFO - hardly your best advocate for promoting something! I thank you

Vandalism of new playground at goose green
stevebailey replied to chuck's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
This isn't the first time, I live opposite and there have been 3 or 4 occasions now where kids have decided to try out the new equipment in a rough and ready fashion, shouting at these dregs of society does very little, if they were decent kids they wouldn't be in there at the first place! I also see we now have a lovely new edition of a roadworks 'lane closing' sign now. The builders don't help themselves though, they've gated off about a fifth of what needed to be closed to keep people out, and haven't even been there in weeks! -
Maybe there was a woman in between them and they had to cross the road? :-$

Seems as though you were doing exactly what he was! Bloody lurkers!

You stood and watched someone who gave you the creeps for 2 minutes???!!!

Back to the original topic of this thread. I'd been getting the train from ED to LB then a 521 to Holborn for a year until i realised that Denmark Hill goes into City Thameslink, been doing this for about a month and never (fingers crossed) had any issues. What with the sometimes delays out of LB home and only a 40 as a fall back, this is worth noting as an alternative route. A 40, 176, 484, or 185 all go up to Denmark Hill station and are very frequent in the morning, and same on the way home. Just though I'd stick my ore in too.

Did I jinx it? OR am I just getting used to the same old same old from a team that has no incentive whatsoever to do well. Sure a few of the players want to do well for themselves and their country, unfortunately capello sat with his thumb up his arse all night and left them on the bench!!! So any guesses on how LUCKY we will be on Wednesday? USA draw and we get a cheeky goal or purely on lots?? What a depressing start to the weekend!

............so, any thoughts on tonight's outcome? I really want to believe we are going to go out there and cream them, but can't rid this nagging doubt in my head that has happened a million times before that we will leave ourselves needing to win 3 or 4 nil to go through 2nd in our group, or even worse not make it through at all!! I just don't get it, on paper we have a very decent team, why oh why do we never look like we are going to walk it!!!

Hey at least it entertained me for an hour! :)-D

You're missing my point, and the funny side of it, the quote was of the 1/4 final match...........you've completely ruined the joke now, i hope your happy with yourself!
-
I think you'll find the base odds when there can be 1 winner out of 2 entries will be 50/50 no matter how you sell it!

Just been reading a BBC forum on Englands World cup chances (getting excited).......... other than usual hatred for and from particular nations, I actually did read, and I quote, " England have a 50/50 chance of getting past the quarter finals! Now I'm not a huge football fan by any means, but have they changed the whole 'one team plays another team and whoever scores the most goals wins' setup?!?! I'm pretty sure that gives each team a 50/50 chance?!? Just thought I'd ask............... Bored at work!

Hi Rosie, I'm sorry to hear this could be on the cards for you, my Mum was diagnosed with Dementia 2 years ago and it's an evil disease. If you cannot find out the GP details, ask yours, they will be able to give you a lot of information and contact numbers for various organisations that can help. Is the person in question living alone or with spouse/family members, dependant on what stage they are at this can become quite critical, my Mum has taken to wandering off in the middle of the night while my Dad's asleep and it can be pretty hairy! That said she is now getting to the stage where she gets very angry, so while she has someone there full time is a good thing in some respects, making use of all available help is very much a bonus. Hope some of the above helps. P.S. SteveT - that's not dementia, that's you being a ****, engage brain before fingers next time please!

Sorry, that would help :-) East Dulwich Station

Hi Barry, Can i ask, what's the deal with the new timetable? For the past 4-5 months I've been getting the 08:41 to London Bridge everyday of the week no troubles, always on time, except for 1 or 2 occasions. Since the change to an 08:33 or 08:45 its been delayed 2 out of 3 days, i gave up this morning and went to denmark hill instead as it wasn't due till 9:01 when i was there at 08:40. Are these just teething troubles or has some overpaid 'genius' made one hell of a boo boo?? Thanks Steve

LadyGooner, you should have walked to Goose Green park and got on a 37 - goes straight to Peckham Rye station. or a walk up East Dulwich Road and left at peckham Rye park and your there in 10 mins. Not a dig just for future reference.

And as HAL9000 says, make sure that all traces of the virus are removed, possible malware or keyloggers could be capturing said authentication details and uploading them to anywhere.

Providing you are happy that you are definitely browsing to your banks website and you see HTTPS:// when you are asked to do this then it should be no problem. Your locally stored copy of the security cert needs replacing, it may even be coincidental that it's coincided with a virus on you're machine. The security cert is a '2 way secure handshake' between source (your PC) and destination (your banks webserver). As I say though, ENSURE that you are definitely on your banks page and not a spoofed version, if in any doubt, just call the banks customer services dept and run it past them. Cheers

I'm sorry but if you know I'm just joking, how can you be disturbed? 'twas merely a jovial comment to lighten the dark mood of the original post. -

I wouldn't call a surprise slap violent assault, no more than being verbally abused in public by a nut job at any rate :-) -

I'm afraid to say it's the world we now live in...... Also just a heads up for the future, you are also no longer allowed to have your own opinion, you can find this landing you in VERY hot water! Unfortunately you just need to chalk that one up to some bad mannered b*tch who obviously has so little going on in her own life she has to sit and eavesdrop on your perfectly acceptable and adult conversation. Also as an aside, a good hard slap never hurt anyone the surprise takes the sting out of!!
