Hi Fuscia, Just to point out that whilst the Victoria and the Florence have the same parent company, myself and Molly are in charge of our own separate businesses. If I can't convince you that we have mended our ways, and that your experience is one which we are truly sorry about and would really appreciate the opportunity to make amends for, then I would ask that you do not penalize Molly and the Victoria for our shortcomings! We have our brand new self contained kids play room - ideal for toddlers, open every day. 25% discount on food for mums mon to fri, if you come in and ask about becoming a member of our (free) "mum's the word" group. Hello Steph, I won't be changing any opening hours (currently midnight sun-thurs and 1am Fri & Sat). The license states that the outside areas have to be emptied by 11 p.m. The plan is to be more Florence than Bishop, but completely different to both (if that makes any sense). I have never received one noise complaint about The Bishop in the 5 years I've had it (if that allays any fears). Reds, planning and licensing permitting, work should start at the end of April and take about 4 weeks.

Hi Ryedalema, Steelwork went in last week, the roof goes on this week, so fingers crossed we are still on schedule for early April. Naughty corner sounds like a great idea. Now thinking about introducing one in the adults area too.

When we took over the pub, the toilets were already equipped with extremely high-tec tape decks. Rather than music on loop, opted for the dulcet tones of Anthony Bourdain reciting from his book Kitchen Confidential - a mighty fine read. The poll could indeed be contentious, but then is something we like to re-address, particularly with the imminent opening of our new dedicated childrens play room. Let the people speak.

it is a potential can of worms this thread I know. Massive scepticism has been replaced by thinking that the idea of a social forum where anyone can post their thoughts, recommendations, or just have a general chat might just take off... Some offers absolutely, some recommendations, what ales we are currently selling, interesting customers, our general musings - the male/female balance of the pub needs addressing at a particular time etc... we are open to suggestions, sensible or otherwise.

Hi Belle, The email should be winging its way to you today, but to save you the trouble, I thought that I would post it here also. This month sees work begin on the long awaited Children?s Play Room at The Florence. This room has been designed and built to provide a secure environment for your children to play in, while you can chat with friends, or even keep an eye on them from the garden with a glass of wine through the glass windows. We have a few ideas of what we think would be good to put in the room, but you are the experts, so we need your help. Does anyone have any ideas of things they would like to have in the room? Are there any groups who might like to book to use the room on a regular basis? Would you be interested in holding kids parties in there? All comments and suggestions are welcomed, in helping us to make the most of the great space which we are building. The work should take about 8 weeks to complete, but we will keep you posted as to when the grand opening will be. Anyone can get hold of a "mums the word" card by popping into the Bishop or the Florence with a child in tow (preferably your own).
