  2. Really pleased you have her back.
  3. Please let us know who or what is Leo and post a photo if possible so people can look for him. Good luck with finding him.
  4. If you want to leave a window open could you craft a frame with some netting that would fit the hole so air can come in but not the cat. I assume it would be an upstairs window to avoid burglars. And yes, as everyone has said, microchip cat flaps are wonderful.
  5. There are still a couple of fabric shops in Lewisham I think. One is Rolls and Rems 111 Lewisham High Street, Lewisham, London, SE13 6AT 020 8852 8686 You could ring them and see if they have the sort of fabric you want.
  6. Surely Ingrid Beazley?s memorial is all over Dulwich. Rather like the Famous Last Words from the Epitaph on Sir Christopher Wren tomb stone. (Reader, if you seek his monument look around you.) (Interred in St. Paul's Cathedral) We can see the street art Ingrid Beazley organised everywhere without having a memorial under a grim railway bridge organised by people who seem to wish not to reveal who they are.
  7. https://www.southwark.gov.uk/assets/attach/1773/1.0.4%20Dulwich_SPD_2013.pdf I don?t know if this link will work but it is a Southwark document and I found it by googling it. There is a not very clear map of the Estate. Worked for me. See figure 4.
  8. Part of Village Ward is also SE22 as well.
  9. If you park very close to the next car pedestrians can?t cross the road, especially if they are pushing a pram or buggy or have a shopping trolley. I don?t have a car but I am a pedestrian.
  10. Was just on Evening tv news.
  11. This is really fascinating. Thank you for posting it. It looks like Redapple newsagents, though not a newsagent in 1917, was a shop owned by women with the surname Redapple.
  12. I am also very sad indeed to see you go, James. I wish you well in the future.

I think the Walworth Road and Camberwell shops are in aid of Crisis.
  14. I see that Bell House, a charity based in Dulwich Village near the Picture Gallery, is running a five week knitting course. The details are on their website.
  15. There was a police car and an ambulance there when I passed it yesterday afternoon.

Satellite Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > As someone who's used this service on and off for > numerous years I can confirm it's always been one > of the worst run in town !! I disagree that the 176 bus route has always been a bad service. I have used it several times a week for more than 30 years. if you want a local bus with a poor service try the 37.

Or Snappy Snaps. There is a branch of Wilko in the Lewisham Centre now as well. Tiger, with branches in Lewisham, Bromley etc, also have lots of picture frames.
  18. Perhaps it would be worth pointing out this thread to Southwark Council and to the Dulwich Society so unambiguous and very visible notices could be put up in all the local parks.
  19. Yes, a painted line would probably work.
  20. The wide ?Road? from Court Lame Gate through to Dulwich Village has no pavements at all. It is quite dangerous I think, speaking as a pedestrian, when cyclists come up behind you. Most are very careful but there are quite a few who cycle at speeds much greater than the 5mph I think they are allowed. Should not new pavements be installed along this route?
  21. You can stuff them behind the panel at the side of your bath. They will keep the bath water warmer for much longer.

I seem to remember this was introduced because sex workers were operating there and there were many clients in cars coming along, curb crawling, which local residents wanted to discourage.
  23. Ontherun mentioned drivers who ?hog huge spaces to avoid parking a few inches away from their front gate, ignoring the need to squeeze up and make room for others?. When I had a car I would have agreed there is a need to squeeze up, especially as it is so difficult to find a parking space in many roads in East Dulwich. But now I am not a car owner, I often find it difficult to cross the road and access the pavement on the other side if cars are too tightly parked with no space between them. This is especially so for people with a pram or buggy or a shopping trolley. Please think of this when parking.
