  1. Just over 20 years ago when our children were small (and no restaurants had high chairs etc, even Mothercare had no changing mats) you could buy a fabric thing, shaped a bit like an apron, into which you could put a baby or toddler and then tie the thing firmly onto the back of a restaurant chair. (It folded small so you could put it in a handbag or large pocket and have it available when needed.) Maybe they still make these, or you could make your own, which would mean you could eat at any restaurant you like.

  4. Farmers is a very useful shop. It may not be trendy and it may not have a French name. However, it actually sells REAL things, rather than expensive touristy style stuff, with which LL and Northcross Road are inundated.
  5. Yes I remember her too, but haven't seen her for years.
  6. there's a florist in Honor Oak called something like Back to the fuschia.
  7. SUGGEST YOU PUT UP NOTICES WITH QUITE A LARGE RADIUS. A FEW YEARS AGO A CAT FROM GOOSE GREEN WALKED IN ON US ON CHRISTMAS EVE HAVING CROSSED LORDSHIP LANE AND MANY OTHER ROADS - WE ARE NEAR TOWNLEY ROAD. THE CAT HAD BEEN MISSING FOR A WHILE (IN FACT THE OWNERS HAD REPLACED IT, AS WE FOUND WHEN WE EVENTUALLY REALISED THAT IT WAS MICROCHIPPED AND TOOK IT BACK TO ITS HOME).
  8. Don't forget to ring round local vets and tell Battersea Dogs Home and Celia Hammond in case the cat is brought in to them. Is it microchipped?
  9. when our childrfen were small we drove to Italy with them. they started asking if we were there yet at Tulse Hill!
  10. the road was closed off when i drove past just after 8 this morning and there were police and forensic (?)people in white suits.
  11. I also saw it this afternoon on Lordship lane near Townley Road.
  12. I always thought Elvis was the guy who does the home delivery service for Somerfield
  13. yes, I have one of the police flyers and I shall be using it. I think they are meant to protect the children who might go into a dodgy stranger's house. Anyway old spoilsport that i may be i do not want to get up and answer the door endlessly through the evening nor to have to clean up flour and eggs from my front windows as in previous years.
  14. Sorry but I think this is a crazy idea. Yes, we do need at least one more pedestrian crossing but as for making this important road through East Dulwich pedestrians-only, it could never work. A round about route would add simply ages to bus journeys, making more people jump in their cars and would also stop people who do not live nearby visiting the area and spending money in the local shops and cafes.
