A harassed man confirmed to us today that it is temporary and is to facilitate complicated gas works. The shocker is the lack of communication. And a question -- what about weekends? what a wonderful way to start the new year. -

Good god, they're painting yellow lines down the whole Craytal Palace Road it seems http://streetworks.southwark.gov.uk/search.asp?searchtype=road&usrn=22500676 This can't be happening!!! -

Of course it might not be parkong, it might be speed limit marking. I hope. But it does seem to be a very specific stretch of the road, and speed marking would surely go all the way up the road? -
One side of Crystal Palace Road has been blocked off with cones for line marking tomorrow. Does anyone know what his is about? We haven't had any communication about line marking at all. It have a bad feeling about this. They can't impose parkong restrictions or changes without some sort of consultation can they?

Or take the other road it's on and called it The North Cross. sounds old and new at the same time, to my mind. Or, much better, use the OTHER road it's by and call it the Crystal Palace. i completely agree. The Villager sounds cringeworthy. Worse, Scott, it sounds artificial and possibly even cynical, which i know isn't your intention. Have you researched the site and found out what the pub was called years ago? (or was it the Uplands?)
