  1. On a completely unrelated topic to the current discussion, I've just been in and there are loads of reductions to be had. Not sure if it's a good sign but a bargain to be had all the same!
  2. Funnily enough no, but I did go to the gym today and I must say I'm really impressed. It's a vast improvement and great use of space. Finally. And The air con is exactly the same!
  3. On the flip side, some would love the sunshine and a decent summer. I'd love to sunbathe and swim constantly from June to September in man made lakes and beaches. I'd save a fortune in travel costs as I like to chase the sun.
  4. But Brockwell Lido is still Fusion run isn't it?
  5. Pool and classes still going. According to their website they'll also offer outdoor bootcamps. https://www.everyoneactive.com/news/exciting-improvements-happening-at-dulwich-leisure-centre/?taxonomy=dulwich-leisure-centre
  6. Evening all, Anyone thinking of going to the gym this week, don't bother. The gym is closed till the 30th August for refurbishment.
  7. Sorry the lentil chips, not your first marriage. Unless it felt like ingesting a furnace :)
  8. I have and upon reflection I think I prefer them as with the chilli ones, some are really nice and lemony with a hint of spice and some feel like you're ingesting a furnace. They also leave you with a horrible taste in your mouth. I amend my previous statement, plain ones all the way!! :)
  9. You've never eaten a wagon wheel? That was the pack up of dreams back in the school days.
  10. Never seen 'Grease', apparently it's sacrilege according to the nearest. Also haven't been to Westmisnter Abbey or the Cheery Tree.
  11. Wine, chocolate raisins (although I count both as 1 of my 5) and the lentil crisps in chilli and lemon flavour from smbs or the Turkish deli. I should be the size of a house based on this. I'm also partial to a carrot stick and humous for balance.
  12. The first sentence is a hit with me, love me some South Indian food. However, I am concerned with the second. I do a lot of travelling and the family live North London and beyond. Is it just bad in rush hour and school runs or generally bad? I currently find leaving ED by road a breeze so this will impact my opinion. Thanks for the reply.
  13. Does anyone have any thoughts on Thornton Heath? I know it has a reputation of being a bit rough to say the least and gentrification hasn't hit there yet, but I was wondering what it's really like as I don't know the area at all. I don't want to be too judgemental. I see Croydon council is looking to invest a few million into the area. The housing looks quite good but I do want to feel safe and have a decent pub! Any thoughts?

  15. Good question. I always did the A12 for the best part of 5 years but in the past year or so I've found the A13 quicker and I like driving past Canary Wharf for some strange reason. That is a good point with tunnels. Rotherhithe can be horrible at rush hour but I always leave early enough to avoid it.
  16. Never eat yellow snow.
  17. I take this journey at least twice a month due to work. I've tried all variations but the one I now always take is Rotherhithe tunnel, A13, North Circular A406, M11 and then join the A1. It's quickest route and I got to Nottingham in a little over 3 hours the other week generally sticking to the speed limit. I used to do Alice's suggestion all the time but I always got stuck around Bow due to traffic and its 30 miles. North circular is 50. Just watch out for the average speed check cameras.
  18. 90p? I've no words.
  19. This was Thursday night at 11pm. Seems they just can't get it right no matter what time of day. You just can't plan your day anymore if you're using trains. ETA: pictures not too clear as its been downscaled a lot but they all say delayed. :(

That makes complete sense. I mean it's annoying that we're in this position, but it's logical.
  21. You're the in travel entertainment? I'll give you a royal wave.
  22. Sure is. There's a lot of disgruntled passengers.
  23. I'm currently stood at East Dulwich waiting for the 1752 to London Bridge but it's delayed till 1806. However a train with passengers just went past without stopping. I just don't understand why it can't stop. Frustrating!

That's why I left Facebook and all other social media other than this forum. I never engaged in arguments with family/friends but got sick of seeing bigoted and racist views. Did Boris really say that regarding Diana?
