Any recommendations for a pest control company? My cats have caught two mice in five days so I think we have a problem. Looking for someone who doesn’t use nasty chemicals… Thank you.

Holland & Barrett is coming to Lordship Lane

I hope LL won’t become another bland high street… I will also continue to go to Health Matters. But might buy my nuts from H&B. -
I’ve told the council (twice), our Dulwich Hill councillor, and Thames Water (twice).

I’ve reported the water leak outside 36/38 Dunstans Road to Thames Water and Southwark Council yet again this morning. This has been going on for about 18 months now. This is really dangerous when it freezes over like today, causing me (and maybe others) to come off my bike last year in front of oncoming traffic. Does anybody know what’s going on? Thank you.

Sad News About Akif from Dulwich Dry Cleaners

I’m so sorry to hear of Akif’s passing. My thoughts are with the family. RIP, Akif. -
Thames Water said we have a water leak

OP, are you at the Peckham Rye end of Dunstans Road by any chance? There’ been a leak here for over a year, which caused me to come off my bike when it froze over last November. I reported it to the Council and Thames Water and nothing’s happened. -
Looking for good seamstress to mend appalling job
Monkey replied to Monkey's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
So they’ve not offered a solution and insist the legs are of equal length. In any event, the stitching is wonky and some of it is already coming off. Seems like their usual (and excellent tailor) was away so the guy probably did the job himself or sent it somewhere else. Anyway - not going to waste any more time on it. I’ve had many excellent recommendations for the Workshop in Crofton Park and this is where I shall be taking my alterations from now on. -

Thank you, Sue. I’ve not spoken to the business yet but will do so tomorrow. Never been in this situation so not sure what to expect. And frankly wondering how anyone could have such disrespect for people’s garments. -
Hi, I bought a super special pair of jeans for my daughter with money my dad gave me from my mum’s estate. These jeans have now been ruined by a local business I’ve been using for some time with both legs too short and one shorter than the other. I’m so upset. Is there anyone who could help (and could do all my alterations going forward)? Thank you.

My humble advice would be to stick with The Gardens. I moved there from DMC on Crystal Palace Road, which was unsafe. Whilst I’d love to move house, I’m staying put so I can stay with The Gardens. They always, always, always give me a phone appointment on the day and see me if need be. They were fantastic when I called after my mum died of aortic dissection to assess if I could be affected too - all this within an hour of my call.

We had a fantastic meal at Du Fratelli tonight. Husband and daughter had pizza and I had the seabass. All absolutely fantastic.

This is a bit of a long shot but I’d like to speak to a doctor specialising in aortic disease. This is after my mum - who had a calcified abdominal aorta - died suddenly after being fobbed off by two GPs who said her severe backache was due to arthritis. This happened in France. I’d love some help to work out what the results of some of her past medical tests mean. It’s mainly numbers - and I can translate the little that’s written in French. Thank you!

I did the Ancestry one and found what I thought was a long-lost relative in a far away country. I was very excited until I found out my 101-year-old grandma knew about it all along and had never thought of telling us. LOL. I didn’t try the other one. Good luck with whatever you choose!

I’ve been noticing an increase in smashed up cars (and even a house smashed by a car) around Dulwich in recent weeks. Has there been an increase in joy riding, car theft etc???
-
Hi - I was wondering if there are people from Lyon who would like to share the joys of Lyon cooking with us? We’re a family of three, including our 14-year-old daughter. Looking forward to hearing from you!

We had a fantastic evening at Zippos. Plenty of fantastic new acts and same Zippos magic. Not to be missed. Enjoy.

Welcome to the area! We’re delighted with The Gardens Surgery but you have to be in the right catchment. Check their website for the list of postcodes they cover. The one to avoid is the Dulwich Medical Centre on Crystal Palace Road. Good luck!

I’ve reported to the council. It’s really dangerous given all the children who walk to school this way.

I saw three bikes smeared with shit on Goodrich yesterdays. Utterly vile.

If you haven’t seen it, this article might be of interest: https://www.dulwichsociety.com/newsletter/spring-2006/dawsons-hill-before-dawsons-heights Honestly, I’d be more worried about having Southwark Council as your freeholder and the hefty bills they might land on you.

Still waiting for two birthday cards from a few weeks ago and, more importantly, my P45 from February…
