couldn't help but notice the unusual half term activity in Townley road this 1/2 term. Instead of lots of parents picking up children, we have a film crew, lighting, catering dept. all very exciting. the name of the school has even changed. the alleyns website is mysteriously quiet on the matter. anyone know what's going on?

#wotnoriot is an interesting thread on twitter. also seemed to be many people walking the lane looking to see what was happening. not a lot. looked good in the EDT and palmerston (?sp.). 3 police by foxton. those windows looked inviting to me. meanwhile, i realised that i was looking at everyone under 30, or wearing a hoodie, or on a bike as a potential 'yoof'. Then realised they were the same boys as normal on the lane. 2 boys on bikes outside the pizza shop. they turned out to be eating pizza. so london riots is divisive. oh- we knew that already.

gotta say that i have been impressed by the 3 times i've made it along to the club this season. went with my son (age 12) and total entry cost for both of us was ?8. even with bovril (it was very cold) still change from a tenner. football was fairly good and great to be so close to the teams so you could hear all that was going on on the pitch. thoroughly recommend if you like a bit of football and you live round here

was anyone else affected by a power cut that came on about 11.30 friday night? it was like one in the movies - flickering lights, then dead. we had another one (hansler road) a year or so ago, and our 'energy supplier' EDF claimed that they were 'replacing antiquated equipment' (ok i made up that quote, but that was the gist).

Last week there was a raid on a house in Hansler Road. Police took away loads of lights, fans, ducts and of course, lots of plants. Apparently this farm had been working for 2 years. No one in the street had really worked out what might be going on in the house that always seemed empty. Does anyone know anything more about this? What with the cocaine factory in lordship lane, is SE22 getting a new industry?
