  1. Hi James, apologies if this has been covered already but do you know the latest position on the hoardings by ED station? Not only do they look particularly ugly at the gateway to East Dulwich but their current position is making the pavement directly by the station very narrow, particularly adjacent to the bike storage where the gap is only 2-3 persons wide. If work was underway I'm sure we could grin and bear it but with nothing happening in the foreseeable future it seems an unecessary blockage of the public highway at a busy station entrance. Could you try to get the developer to move them back to the boundary? Thanks
  2. In desperate need of winter sun and would appreciate recommendations for accommodation. A separate bedroom for our toddler is a must, so struggling with the usual holiday sites. Think we're after a villa or apartment in a resort with a big pool and close to beach and restaurants. Any ideas? Thanks

My understanding as a local resident is the nodal point being on Jarvis Road doesn't automatically mean the entrance will be there, it could still be on ED Grove for example, in which case the potential planning objection you mention is not relevant here. James, please clarify if you have confirmation otherwise.
  4. Really want this to be a success but have to say my first impressions aren't great unfortunately. I'm signed up as a member but they've a problem issuing the free tickets at the mo, expected them to say they'd take my details and contact me when sorted blah blah, but were just fairly unhelpful and I had to offer up going back again tomorrow in the hope that it's working then. Also get the impression they're not interested in customer feedback as I was met with a surly response from the duty manager when I offered my views on the timing of films which at either 6/6.30 or 8.30/9pm, are in my opinion too early or too late especially if you've kids and rely on sitters. Doesn't seem to cater to the local demographic of young families and I was simply told they have the Big Scream showing you can bring babies too, ignoring my desire to come without baby in tow! Hope they can become friendly towards customers quickly as it looks amazing and we've been waiting so long.
  5. Thanks, I've put in a call and they've promised to turn it down. Not too concerned about it now but 8am didn't show a lot of consideration for those nearby.
  6. Does anyone know where this is coming from - school's sports day maybe with PA system and music?? Started really loudly just after 8am. Thanks
  7. Hi, does anyone know of any good prenatal Pilates classes running locally, ideally during the day on a drop-in basis? Thanks
  8. Thanks for the welcome. I've pm'd esme for the FB link but if you could send me also would be appreciated. Ta x
  9. Saw this today on both sides of Melbourne Grove, near Blackwater street. Can't understand why.
  10. Does anyone know if the remaining part of the hospital is listed? It would be terrible to lose such a beautiful building entirely.
  11. Looks as though the curry houses have the most improvements to make. Will be thinking again about where I get my takeaway, what a shame.
  12. I've found the tyre place on the corner near ED station to be extremely helpful and reasonable. Doesn't sound like you're too far away from there.
  13. I know this is an old thread but have found it difficult to find anything up-to-date on Southwark's planning website regarding double dormers/L shaped. Is there anyone with an expert view who can provide the latest thoughts on whether there's any issues with them falling under permited development to update this thread? Much appreciated.
  14. I've seen a few mentions about the Vale Residents Association and would like to find out more details including how I can get involved. Please can someone point me in the right direction. Thanks.
  15. Just to add that Dennis came back to mine last week to deliver a chimney balloon which he didn't have on him when he first came, very thoughtful of him. Can't recommend this scheme enough, a whole load of free stuff that helps you save money.
