  1. Moos Wasn't that the popular choice for bank robbers and Gangsters, is there something about your past life you wish to confess (starts tape machine, DCI Luv interviewing Moos on past life, 14:11 Thursday 29th Jan 2009)

Good suggestion, except I don't drink Squash Your suggestion does sound like a Viz Top Tip I have to add. I actually used a Biscuit cutter to hold the eggs with in the end. PGC - is that a Magic darning mushroom ?
  3. This is prompted by the fact that I have my mum staying with me at the moment after her recent back operation. The other day she asked me to make boiled eggs, (3 1/2 minutes to get them right before anyone asks) and just as I was about to scoop them out of the water I realised that I don't actually own any egg cup holders. I thought I did but after a rapid search of the kitchen I concluded that at no time in the past 15 years have I owned any or that I did and have thrown them out. It also brought home to me that I obviously haven't made boiled eggs in all that time either. I am curious now to know if anyone else has had this sort of thing happen to them as well (with any item that they thought they owned)
  4. Where is Kennedy's when you need them.... All shut down and turned into Coffee Shops I fear.
  5. Why not publish your poem here so that the whole of ED can read it
  6. Keef Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > What do you mean local, you "luvPECKHAM"! Good point Keef, LuvPeckham, Live Locally and shop in both..... (and yes occasionally I buy some other items in the Supermarket too) Well raised Jeremy, and it is a pity that shops can't open later to suit everyone as that would make life easier for shopping locally. Lordship Lovely, an interesting cost comparison was done in Peckham just over a year ago*, which demonstrated that most supermarkets cost (on average) 15-25% more for the same items that can be found locally. I agree that a ?15 Chicken is extreme but I now find that I save money by shopping locally in East Dulwich and Peckham (although shoppign locally does take longer, it can ensure that both town centres remain viable) Also didn't mean to get your back up, was meant as a humor(less) remark... * The comparison was part of the Flava's of Peckham event and may not yeild the same results now that Supermarkets are promoting budget items

Okay, Friend excused as they aren't local, but more importantly do you support our local shops ? You are right you don't have to explain yourself but in these troubled times, the more support our local shops get, the more likely they are to survive.
  8. ::o Only if you think it is appropriate to use them rather then supporting our lovely local shops... (6)

  10. At last Miles In the Lounge with the other Lizards !!! ::o
  11. Miles Are you bumping the thread because you want more people to read it or because your harem has left you ? Luv

  13. It is a simple case of economics and supply & demand If no one wanted to drink in East Dulwich then the price of a pint would drop to attract people in, however with a strong demand (as currently) then the price rises because people are willing to pay what is charged. Okay there is the economic factors involoved of rental of premises, licence fees, rates, staff costs, waste disposal costs, taxes and cost of raw materials (alcohol, food ..) however at the end of the day if people choose not to drink here then the price of beer / drinks would more then likely come down. That said, I for one don't advocate bycotting drinking in the area, but it may explain part of the reason why East Dulwich appears to be more pricey then other areas.
  14. I fthey open poundland in Peckham, then you will be the first to know.... Also best played in the smartest suits / outfits possible to make it even more surreal !!!
  15. Penguin68 ermmm No maybe (but I could be wrong !!)
  16. Kind of linked to the 99p / Poundland discussion at Woolworths but Years ago I had a phase of going into Poundlands and repeatidly taking one item up to the counter after another to ask "How much is this?" ... Game was won when the assistant lost their rag, usually with "Look Everything here is a F***ing pound" Best played with a friend who stays in the background and browses items until that point (above) is reached and then he/she walks up to the counter to ask "So how much is this then?"

That explaines why most grease monkeys I know can't pick up women when MOTing their cars..... How strange that you should be able to explain that to me...
  19. Welcome to the good end of ED Ocean Not saying where I live but not far from where you describe and I can recommend a walk across the park to The Rye Hotel for good food and drinks when you get here. Good point for transport to most places, and only a few minutes walk to lordship lane (what a bonus) and not far from Yeh Wah (slightly dodgy looking on the outside but good chinese takeaway) Downsides.... can't think of any except that with 3 takeaways on Barry Parade that there is a danger that you won't cook for a while Oh and not to forget Barry's offlicence / supermarket... excellent for most things that you forget or even your weekly shopping if you can't be bothered to go anywhere else. Welcome to the Area and enjoy.
  20. HI There is indeed a community council for East Dulwich, which meets about every 6 weeks Go to the www.southwark.gov.uk to see more details cocnerning community events As for the shops in East Dulwich, I am talking to the traders at the moment about how the Peckham Town Center Management Group can share some of our documentation / best practices with them and when they are ready i am sure they will be able to also offer a voice for the business community as well.

I Love my guitar..... what more do I need in life ? And I haven't got a campaign against "Mr Miles and Boon", I am just warning the lovely ladies of East Dulwich about our local Cad, Harem operator and general all round bounder.
  22. Sigh Apart from the normal sorts of things, I often find myself sitting alone in my lounge at 2am thrashing away trying to beat my score on Guitar Hero (just one more attempt and I can get this song past 80,90,95%...) Result - Poor Eyesight, strained wrist and lack of sleep (at least I think that is caused by Guitar Hero.. will have to double check with the priests)
  23. What the F**K is going on here ??? :-S More important is Where's Wally ?
  24. Sadly whilst I support this great institution in our midst (see comments above) What I don't support is being told by the Nurse tonight to take home the flowers Mum has had by her bed for 3 days because someone complained about them.... a real W.T.F**k moment if i have ever had one
  25. Mr Miles has contacted me concerning some campaign or other attempting to smear his good name ( I deny all knowledge) In the same message he also informed me that he will be setting up a charity kissing booth at the drinks and for five pounds a go he is willing to prostitute himself for a good cause.... ....Sadly for this bounder and ruffian I don't think another Zombie cocktail is a good cause...
