  1. It's fantastic for Rugby with breakfast on a saturday morning at 8.00 am
  2. Hi swf - thanks for the info I'll be there nice and early for the brekkie. Come and say hello (I'll be wearing my Wasps top probably)
  3. Did anybody go to the Mag last weekend? Was it busy and did they do the breakfasts? I couldn't make it in the end but am going this weekend, despite the likelyhood of another hammering, although I think the team changes are for the better so we might get closer.
  4. and it doesn't seem very private
  5. Yes I've had a few problems recently, last night especially. Customer Services did report a problem and it solved itself a while later. I've had my Broadband with NTL since the trial and have found it very good until recently. I pay around ?30 for phone and 4mb Bb I agree that resetting does seem to solve most problems.
  6. Thanks for the info - will be there for the brekkie = remember them being v good whilst watching the Lions there a year or so ago.
  7. The game is on at 8.35am and yes, $ky only I'm afraid
  8. Does anybody know if the Magdala is opening up for the NZ v England rugby - and if so is it doing breakfasts again, and do I need a ticket? Bit of a masochist I know as no doubt we'll get stuffed, but worth it just for the breakfasts
  9. ....playing nothing but John Lennon's "Working Class Hero"
  10. *Bob* come now. She's female (and hetero) and I'm male (and hetero) but, no no no. (whisper - Office gossip = I wouldn't be the first though)
  11. One of the benefits of having my boss off this afternoon is that I can peruse the Internet to my heart's content. First thing I see is a rather fetching picture of Duffy on the BBC site, but I move on to EDF where I see that Louisa has made 750 odd posts. Having a quick look through them reveals - a mass of contradictions - a remarkable amount of unsupported "facts" - an overiding and constant banging on about "working class" - an obvious need to disagree with just about everybody - a belief that its not just ED that is rubbish but also UK (I think we're all doomed by the way) Allied to the fact that she has a well paid job, owns her own ED home, has spent months away in Oz I believe that she is not in fact the urban Working Class warrior she likes to portray herself as but is in fact just a normal or should I say "real" person like the rest of us. Ladies and Gentlemen I can unmask dear Louisa as a superb windup merchant who likes nothing better than antagonising people. Now she has been exposed can we get on with life and can Louisa stop the ridiculous pseudo posturing (reminds me of what I was like at Grammar School - middle class punks hey!) . And yes, I am bored this afternoon Jon
  12. Have you brought this up with the council Louisa?
  13. Louisa What did the council say when you spoke to them about this? Jon
  14. I think Sean is spot on Louisa. They consulted and are trying something out based on those consultations. Give them a chance - or why not get off your soapbox and stand for the council yourself as you seem to have all the answers. I happen to think Southwark Council get an undeserved hard time as all of my contact with them has been excellent. Louisa mentioned rubbish - you ring them abnd they clear it up with a few hours. The other option is to moan moan moan on EDF - or ring them. I think young people call that a "no brainer". Getting back to Goose Green I'd actually ban dogs completely, buts thats just my anti dog prejudice.
  15. After 7 years or so of walking from ED to Liverpool Street I've just started to cycle there instead (Bellenden/Trafalgar Rd/OKR/TowerBridge). I can't believe how quick it is and I'm home by 6.00pm. Contrary to what I was expecting I find I'm normally given enough space by car drivers and don't feel too vulnerable (Tower Bridge is the exception though). I take all the quiet back roads I can (except the Burgess Park Canal path which this forum has scared me off of) The biggest danger is the pedestrians in the City who just don't look - perhaps we are all like that though?
  16. No unfortunately everything will not be alright Take a look at this - http://www.fiona-colley.net/2007/10/save-south-london-line-again.html
  17. Don't forget Alan Smith was manager there for a while
  18. I don't think you'll get much sympathy. Littering the streets is fairly low on the anti social scale but on that scale it is. How about taking a tobacco tin with you and stubbing it out in that?

  20. danrees Wrote: > > As for that useless man who occasionally sells > railway tickets... What do you mean by this. He's a good guy who does his job very well, even gets put into hospital after being beaten up for it. How dare you say that
  21. Can I join in here? I walk from ED to Liverpool Street via Bellenden Rd, Sumner Road, Old Kent Road, Bermondsey, Tower Bridge, Minories and finally Liverpool St. Takes 1.25 hrs and like the cyclists say it really gets you going. Have a shower at work and I'm ready to go. Really love it in summer in shorts & Tshirt, even winter has its moments (still in shorts BTW!). MP3 player is my only piece of kit needed. The Archers omnibus is made for this journey. Journey back home is even better. All streses and strains from office have disappeared. Only problem is I eat like a horse when I get home. I'd highly recommend it
  22. Was it a rat I saw?
  23. Oh my god, what have I got into? Kinda wished I'd taken my ball and run yesterday when I had the chance
  24. Alan I like it, I'm warming to you:)-D Jon
  25. So that's Alan Dale in the Wind Up category then:)-D
