^ Sort of skirts round the issue doesn't it Mr Barber? Aren't these free publications simply a waste of money, resources etc... As is being expressed above. And just my opinion, but these publications do reek of 'oh how good we are, look at the good thing we're spending your money on' kind of political nonsense... Whilst separately being a complete bore to read (just my opinion of course) which also, during these times comes across as highly inappropriate use of resources IMO So if I missed something -
Hmmmm, i'm definitely not a greenie.... Unless greenie comes with a strong tint of blooo

Southwark Parking Wardens - setting a poor example

They were > not there because of anything I did. Ok fair enough. You did state however, that you had been ticketed for parking in a loading bay which you then later spotted traffic warden using? That aside, when people are 'tempted' to park illegally it is usually because there are few/no 'legal' places left to park. So, by definition there will be no places left for parking wardens when they really need to do their job? "The reason I get annoyed (and so do a lot of other people) is that those enforcing the law should not think that they are above it but frequently do. There is nothing wrong with carrying out our duty as taxpayers and citizens to ensure that those who we pay to enforce our laws also abide by them." So for example, do you really expect the Police to stay within the standard realms of the law when going about their business? like staying within speed limits whilst chasing speeding stolen cars? Surely they must be allowed extended powers in order to effectively carry out their job. Futile otherwise? If everyone stayed within the law, they wouldn't be forced to go beyond it in order to penalise/catch us? Please don't get me wrong, I hate getting parking tickets, but when i do.... well it's mostly my own fault of course! And finally, to agree with you on at least one point :) I absolutely hate people who use mobiles whilst driving... S/ -

If you email me > where it happened we can ask the local Police to > undertake some speed enforcement. Please lets stop this rubbish Camera culture! Cameras only encourage drivers to speed up and slow down.... We all know they are not a solution, just a simple revenue driver!! IMO it's not all about speed! just BAD DRIVING AND DRIVERS NOT PAYING ATTENTION. But of course they haven't designed a camera to catch this out... Sorry if I missed something. -

Ok, my bad. I have searched high and low to find the shittiest Traffic Warden by way of a sympathetic, apologetic kind of gesture (sad for short): http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article395585.ece -

When quite possibly they're in the wrong in the first instance? Just MHO All peace and good will kind of stuff x -
This is a great step forward if somewhat futile, can't see the point myself. I question how up-to-date this is? I have checked on the locations of some of last years fatal incidents yet they don't appear on this map at all!!!???!!!. Really what is the point of this!!!???? Some random cyclists/fatal accidents from last year, NOT SHOWN ON THIS MAP: Whitechapel/Valance rd/ female/ September 2009. Elephant & castle/ Female/ mid 2009. Holborn Viaduct/ Female/ early 2009. Peckham/ Female/ June 2009. Embankment nr Westminster/ Female/ Nov 2009 Goswell Road/ Female/ April 2009 etc etc So, 6 fatal accidents last year in London and they're not on this map..... *who's wasting who's time....*

To the OP and other like minded individuals: ^ oh bejeebus!! Why should Traffic Wardens have to abide by the same laws as us???!!! they are enforcers... If you didn't park in stupid places they wouldn't have to be there at all. And with regards to the comment referring to how the police go about their business, well they do whatever they need to do to get the job done. And in some ways, the traffic wardens should be able to do so too! As many of you have already pointed that one out!! how stupid would it be to see traffic wardens pull up into an NCP just to go ticket the twunts who can't be bothered to do the same! So if you have an issue with traffic wardens not abiding by the 'law' I suggest it's because your peeved that you've had a ticket from them and they did the same as you... BUT MAYBE THEY WERE ONLY THERE BECAUSE YOU WERE TOO LAZY AND INCONSIDERATE TO PARK YOUR CAR PROPERLY IN THE FIRST INSTANCE Ok, rant over... sorry Sorry if i missed something? -

^ to be honest, i think they've done quite well patching up some parts of ED. Potholes have been really bad this year as result of the recent weather. Within a week, the pot holes on my route were 'patched up'! As a cynic though, i have my own thoughts as to why they were so speedy at sorting this out.... don't you? Claims culture innit! EDF - Nasty situation, glad to hear you're ok fella. But as you'll surely agree, you/i cyclist alike... we have to deal with these risks every day. Drivers on mobile phones, fags out of windows into face, pot holes bla de bla Moaning aside, i still love and far prefer to cycle by miles and miles, it's still better than the train/ bus or tube.......What does that say for the state of London transport!!! (better risk being killed on bike than take the tube/bus/train!!!! FFS!) -
8:30 and all's well ....... Phew
