  1. Thanks Renata - had no idea it wasn't set up by Mark! It still will hopefully serve the same purpose however from a survey point of view as it has over 3k members
  2. Glad it's averted! ps if she goes down that train of thought again from blonde to black - when I did it that way around I think I had to dye mine red first before black to put the pigment in otherwise could go green ... definitely needs a professional job - good luck!
  3. I have re posted this as a WEP post instead as posted via wrong account - please do remove
  4. Re: I have re posted this as posted via wrong account
  5. Jules, I did the same a couple of years later than her - my opinion is let her, it's not a massive deal, it will grow back, or she can strip the black out.. I went from black to blonde - yes it was bad for my hair, but it was ok if you get the right hairdresser.. she'll hold it against you forever if you don't let her - she wants to express herself - there could be bigger and more dangerous battles than hair colour I think personally xxx
  6. I have a request from Elmgreen school in Tulse Hill for volunteers for their Futures Day to talk to small groups of 6th formers about their particular career or business in a speed dating style set up, they are especially looking for more people connected with Finance, Architecture, Law, Engineering, Medicine, Psychology, Sports or Design. I'm also looking to get more local/East Dulwich (or beyond)female business owners/sole traders/freelancers who would like to get involved with the Think BIG project (www.thinkbigproject.uk. We are talking with local schools, the last event was this week at JAGS in East Dulwich. If you'd like to take part and get involved with either of the above please let me know :o)
  7. Mums in Business, next free meeting ~ July ? 11th 2012 - this Wednesday This month we are having a social, so come along for a drink and tell us what you've been up to and catch up on some gossip, new members welcome of course, just email me claire@daisylets.com We are a group of mums in and around East Dulwich who come together for support, networking and joint working. The group welcomes new members with open arms and aims to offer a friendly atmosphere in which to explore any issues or questions that members or newcomers might have that month that other members may be able to help with. We occasionally have speakers too to give advice on relevant topics for half an hour to an hour. The meeting is free to attend (contribution of ?2-?3 towards drinks and nibbles is appreciated as this is administered by volunteers) and is intended to be a support group for like minded mums running or wishing to start their own businesses rather than a hardcore networking meeting ? our way of networking is low key and not scary at all! This is in recognition that there are issues that mums face when trying to get businesses off the ground that others do not have to contend with ? no perfectly timed speeches required! More info here: www.mumsinbusinessdulwich.wordpress.com Please join us for a glass of wine and a nibble! Hope to see some of you at the Daisylets office at 8pm, please let me know if you are coming so I can plan nibbles ahead, thanks Claire

  9. The East Dulwich Forum...what a fabulous resource...wouldn't you know it...I was literally reading this thread when Ms Electricity key scam artist knocked on the door! This is the second time this has happened in two months - we're on Landells Road. Anyway she was stopped in her story mid sentence by the fact that we know all our neighbours and knew exactly what she was up to. The joy of turning the tables on the scammer was delicious! My partner called the police on 020 8721 2447 (which is the safer neighbourhoods team number - which was on answerphone (what is the point!) and then called 999, while i followed her up the road. She ran off and got into a car - but not before i ran after her and got a good look at the guy driving and got the car number plate. Below are their description. Let's see what happens... Her : Black, skinny, dreadlocks early 30's Him : White, bald/crew cut mid 30's Car Registration : W572UJB
  10. Beth! please bring some choc to the next MIB meeting if it's near you!!! I've been salivating at the very words on this thread .. mmmm.. lucky I'm not walking distance from the shop or you'd never get me out of there.. it'll make a change from eating the 10 zillion carrot sticks and humous I normally get through at the meetings.. I'll buy you a coffee :o)
