  1. yes - you are right. How to solve it now? Best, Otto
  2. I used my cards in the hsbc machine mostly...I was feeling almost certain that was the spot.... I've used them in a few other small businesses on the lane, but, as they are family owned and staffed, i am sure they were not the places. Somerfield and Sainsburys on occasion...but will not anymore...after the other coincidences here. As i work and have kids in ED, I never seem to get out of ED so must be a local thing. (and I do internet purchases with a card that has not been copied!) xo, otto
  3. My other bank just called. Withdrawal attempted in India on my other bank card with different bank. Had to close down account...awaiting new card... and i just got my other card back and up and running though i am awaiting reimbursement of funds for that escapade... going on holiday saturday. luckily, my mother and her cards will look after me! thank goodness for mothers, xo, otto
  4. Hi Went into HSBC today to withdraw funds with my new card and the bank teller told me not to use the machines outside as they had been "compromised" on several occasions... xo, otto
  5. Hi I've just finished typing in my card clone incident to the met office crime reporting online facility. I think it is probably important to report it, no matter how futile it all seems... It was easy to do online - I guess someone will phone me within 72hours... Best, Otto
  6. actually saw the "big bully guys" hanging about a couple of times recently...and did feel something was amiss...did a withdrawal anyway which i shouldn't have in retrospect...i just walked home a different way on busy roads - had shielded my pin...the transactions on my card all took place in illinois (america) where one does not need a pin... must be a big operation of clone-selling.... i think i will go in the bank next time for a withdrawal... thanks karter...this is good info for all - who is mr. tanna?
  7. Ah...mine has been cloned as well....bank phoned yesterday...bah. I have been avoiding "that petrol station" for well over a year...as well as the other mentioned spot...I think i perhaps did not notice something amiss at the bank atm...but I've no recollection of it looking any different... how crazy. best, otto
  8. how about a cuban restaurant?
  9. A really fresh veg oriented mexican... otto
  10. Hi... No sign of him...I only must hope he is having a lovely time somewhere else in East Dulwich...perhaps he is out cloning bank cards to get by on his own... ;)
  11. Hi Gary C. - Send me your regular email address by private messaging and I'll forward a photo along - It was quite a funny sight! best, otto
  12. Here's a pic of the stuck truck under the east dulwich bridge... best, otto
  13. Thanks everyone! Best, otto
  14. Hi Apologies for the daft question - I am not a commuter... Oyster cards - from east dulwich station - can they be used? I did not see a card reader...we have a new au pair who wishes to find the most economic way to have a social life outside east dulwich... Thanks, Otto
  15. Back to topic - our neighbors house is finally under offer...! xo, otto
  16. Thanks jen... We have sifted... A new houdini-proof enclosure has been built. We are getting henry the remaining tortoise two new tortoise friends shortly...and the gardeners have been summoned to rebuild perimeter fencing... xo, otto
  17. hi yes. They live inside. They were outside having some sun in a predator proof enclosure. I also had been checking on them periodically, and sitting with them on work breaks. I haven't the slightest idea how he got out, and there were no signs of anything getting in. Needless to say, we are hovering over the remaining one now when he suns outside. And we have hired the bowlers to build an amazing series of scarecrows on the sides of the green. Just kidding, xo, otto
  18. yeah...the bowlers...makes an interesting set of possibilities... xo, otto
  19. Thanks for the kind words - - yes - I have - though our poster came down in the rain last night. There is this vast bowling green behind us...the bowlers are looking, but there are probably several ways out. We had a walk around there yesterday and they were most kind agreeing to take a look as well. But - as he is a fresh soft newborn tortoise, the blackbirds, magpies and wood pigeons would probably like to have him for tea... Not a good thought, but, a realistic one unfortunately. Henry his brother tortoise is looking quite glum. Best, Otto
  20. thanks...will do...I am guessing it is a bit hopeless, but, you never know... it belongs to my almost four year old son... xo, otto
  21. cross-posting - terribly sad... (and it is not a cat) Hi - One of our baby tortoises (about a month old) has found his way out of our garden. I think his chances are very small on his own and our chances of finding him are even smaller - but - if you see a tiny tortoise a little bigger than a two pound coin, please pm me - I am offering a reward...melbourne grove vicinity...if you do find him, please do not feed him anything but clover or dandelion or a bit of water... thanks, heartbroken otto
  22. sorry - no... there are certainly some good keys floating around ed! best, otto
  23. not a match - anyone else? xo, otto
  24. Hi Found a set of keys on tell grove. PM me and identify them and I'll arrange to return them... Best, otto
  25. She came to my door sat morning...she said the 38.00 was for a locksmith to gain entry into her mothers place after a lengthy dead mother, dead sister and dead brother story. I suggested she go down to the locksmith on lordship lane and he would happily help her. She then looked at me and said "Oh, and I am pregnant too". I told her the shop was not that far away. She was a more than a bit psychotic in her story delivery...and scared me. oh, and she said she was a neighbor from a neighboring street - she said she lived at 65 Melbourne Grove...which i am sure is false but I am mentioning it to let you know what neighborhood she was working last sat.... she is middle-aged, has glasses and a hat, black, plump. Her bag is striped canvas. best, otto
