Mini-engineers Lego party - anyone hosted or been to one?
jkb replied to jkb's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We did it ourselves in the end. My older children were the lego masters! I spent about ?50 on a basic box of lego and then set them challenges of what to make. They took handfuls of it home instead of a party bag so worked out much cheaper! -

jkb replied to jkb's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Got it. Thanks so much. Julia x -
Hi, I think I saw a post on here a while ago with a mum talking about going back to work. It became a long thread as we all had the same concerns! Can anyone remember and point me in the right direction please? Thanks Julia

I have a 3 year old at the nursery on Mondays and Fridays and have given my notice for him to leave so he can go to a school nursery. The ONLY reasons for leaving are practical ones. It is a fantastic nursery and we will be sad to leave. I am due to leave at the end of this term but wondered if there was anyone out there who might be interested in taking his place before then? Please PM me if you are looking. Thanks Julia

I have a family ticket for a private view of the new display / installation at the Museum of Childhood. It is called 'The Stuff of Nightmares' (yes it is for children!). http://www.vam.ac.uk/moc/whats_on/exhibitions_and_displays/the_stuff_of_nightmares/index.html It starts at 6.30pm. If you would like it please PM me. I am in Colyton Road and you would need to collect the ticket from me. Thanks Julia

child friendly hotels/self catering for short break
jkb replied to emc's topic in The Family Room Discussion
This hotel is great. Very family friendly with good family rooms. They cater for children and have a good pool and baby listening service. It's near Camber Sands (if the weather is good) or Rye which is really pretty. We have stayed there a few times. Flackley Ash Hotel -

Two of my children went there from 8 month old until they started school. The only reason I have not sent my youngest is that I am no longer working. It's a great nursery and both mine were very happy there.
