This sounds like it could be the same man that followed me down Friern road on his bike, and then hit my car with a metal pole he was carrying (with my kids obviously in the back). I reported to the police, they said they didn?t know him despite someone who lives on the road saying he was local. Please take care around him- it was quite scary.

If you?re looking for a tutor (in or out of lockdown) I wanted to recommend Alexandra Beeley at Knowledge Seekers. She has helped one of my children through the 7 plus exams, and is currently working with my youngest via zoom. I was initially unsure as to how it might work online with a 6 year old, but it has become a highlight of his week and her engaging manner means the time flies by. If you?ve got any questions please feel free to PM.

Hello I'm looking for a violin teacher for my 6 year old- would be grateful for recommendations. Many thanks in advance

Unfortunately he thumped me when I threw my phone over the fence. Silly really should have just handed it over but you don't always think sensibly in the heat of the moment.

I'm sorry to hear and glad you are ok. Police said they would be patrolling the area, I guess they are very unlikely to catch them though. Have learned my lesson about walking along with head stuck in emails.

Just to make people aware two guys on a black moped tried to mug me on my way home from work at 6pm. Asked for time and quickly tried to steal my phone and bag. Received a punch when I threw my phone over a local fence and consider myself very lucky it wasn't worse. Please keep an eye out if walking around this evening as police say they may target others- it's a stolen moped.

Hi Would also recommend PAYE for nannies. Been using them for 3 years and no issues - seem to recall they were a good bit cheaper than nanny tax.

Hi Forum Thinking of joining jags sports club, and especially interested in family swimming. Is the pool warm enough for 3 year old and 3 month old? Thanks in advance!

Thank you for all your replies- very much appreciated!

Hi Sorry to start another GP related post, but would be hugely grateful for any views on Elm Lodge- particularly for children. Thanks in advance!

Hi I used the beach room in mid March with the wonderful Lanes midwives. It was fantastic- spacious, huge birthing pool and lots of things to help aid an active birth. We were back home 3 hours after the birth, and just 5 after arriving. It's obviously a very personal decision, but for me one of the great attractions was an environment so close to home (my first was delivered at home), but with the security of having lots of help on hand - we had a bit of a scare towards the end and knowing we were at the hospital was very reassuring. Hope that helps!

Spring babies 2014 (due March, April, May)
Sicilia replied to Family Room Moderator's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi everyone I'm expecting baby number 2 on 14 March when my son will be just over 3 years old. Would love to meet up but unfortunately my other half is traveling for those 3 dates so will hope to see you all at the next one! Frankie29 - I'd also be really interested in a recommendation for Pilates in the city if you don't mind sharing. Strawbs- I've bitten the bullet and booked the nct refresher, from what I can see it's only one session pre and one post birth, and not for partners (which is just as well as I don't think mine would attend again!). Like you've said really to meet other second time mums but looks like there's a good number on this thread already! -
Hi both and congratulations! I have a 2.5 year old boy and am due in March - would love to meet up!

My other half was exactly the same! The course I went to was at St Thomas' hospital, and he reluctantly agreed to join me - he was still a bit sceptic by the time he left, but a total convert by the time I'd given birth! :)

Hi there I went to a hypnobirthing course last November for the birth of my baby in Feb. I have to say I found it really useful, particularly to help me keep calm as my baby was born at home (but was intended to be born in hospital!). It really helped me cope with little pain relief (TENS machine and some gas and air at the end). I didn't use everything the course taught, but in particular the breathing and relaxation techniques were great. It did require a fair bit of practice though (used to listen to the CD last thing at night and always fell asleep half way through it so figured it must have done some good!). So my experience was definitely a positive one, but as with everything its probably not for everyone! The course was based around the Marie Mongan book, but was adapted for a UK audience. Unfortunately I've given my book and CD to a friend otherwise you could have tried it out - maybe see if someone else can lend to you?

Hi there I'm due on 5th March with my first and have signed up to evening/weekend classes in ED starting mid Jan. I think they might be booked up though as they don't seem to be online anymore but I wonder if its worth contacting the local co-ordinator to see if they can fit you in? (let me know if you'd like details of who I spoke to) Also, you've probably already seen it but there's a Spring babies club thread started - I work full time too so haven't been able to get to their first meet but hopefully we can organise an evening/weekend one at some stage!
