Ikea Kitchens - has anyone got any experience?
dollydaydream replied to cmacnew's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I wouldn't have an IKEA kitchen you have to fit them all together and if any thing is missing or damage you have to wait for it to be delivered or go and collect it, if it's in stock. If you have a builder to fit remember he's going to charge for the extra time of fitting it together etc. I would go with a ready assembled kitchen if you have a builder fitting it then he has access to trade companies. Good Luck -

dollydaydream replied to doreenr's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hello, there is Dulwich Park and Peckham Rye park and a park opposite Hornimans Museaum, there is another park on the road that is opposite The Dulwich Wood House pub on Sydenham Hill. Crystal Palace Park. You could ask her who she plays with at school and plan an afternoon tea say on a fri if its possible. Join the PTA at the school and you would get to know some of the parents (it's an opening for both of you). Good luck -
This sound like the same woman who did the same thing at Honor Oak up by the station along the row of shops on the main rd, she asked my husband for money for baby milk etc.(several years ago)

Where next to live? ED too pricey
dollydaydream replied to Hickory's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I lived in ED for many years (Decades) moved out to South Croydon for more space bigger house, bigger garden no problem parking the car on the road or the drive, Croydon shopping centre is going to be re-developed next year to become the next new Westfield (same company) and all for half the price you would pay for a 4 bed house in ED. So moving out is not the end of the world. -
Hi you should always check the compare insurance sites, I received a renewal quote and I went on the compare sites and the same company came back to me a lot cheaper.(something like ?250+ cheaper). They hope you will just renew with out question, and M&S are no different to the other companies or banks offering insurance.

Who wants a cold yoghurt on a freezing cold day and then going out to play when a hearty cake and custard will warm your cockles. Also fruit Yoghurt has quite a lot of sugar in so may not be the so healthy option every body thinks.(unless natural yoghurt)maybe.

Homework - anyone else in shock?
dollydaydream replied to Monkey's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi As I remember homework, the children are expected to do a little each day plus reading but only for a certain amount of time i.e 20 - 30 mins max and for them not to struggle on if they haven't finished. If they are spending to much time trying to finish have a word with the teacher and come to some arrangement for some children they will have finished in 15 mins others are struggling after 45 mins. It is finding what is comfortable for your child. Good luck -

What is happening with the historic Grove Tavern?
dollydaydream replied to Martin W.'s topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I remember The Grove Tavern when it was a Pub serving lovely food lovely comfy chairs and in the garden there was a sheep called Mint Sauce. -
Hi I wouldn't touch the house, with forward thinking you will want to sell the house at some point which will be difficult especially as there is no paper work for the underpinning. Leave well alone another house will come along, if it looks like a bargain it is because of the underpinning. Can say you have not been warned!!
