  1. About 2-3 years ago (clearly under previous management) I went there with a friend for an after work drink, as we live nearby it was always an easy place to meet up, get decent enough food, could always get a seat, etc. However, in between paying for our drinks and leaving maybe an hour later, my wallet had been stolen from my coat, and when I raised the issue with the bar staff, they were completely uninterested. Upon requesting to use their phone to phone the police, they refused saying it wasn't their problem and if I used their phone it might affect their license... I have not set foot in the place since. Upon reporting it to the police, it apparently wasn't the first time this had happened in this pub. Despite it's great location unfortunately it's battling against rather a large image problem.
  2. Having heard such bad things as you've all said from friends about appointments at EDMC, I was surprised when I tried and succeeded in getting an 'emergency' appointment recently. After phoning at 845am and holding for 20 minutes, as I was apparently "so polite" the woman said despite my problem not sounding like an emergency to her (are these women trained professionals in phone diagnosis?), that I should come down anyway and she'd make sure I got seen. I did and was seen within 20 minutes of arriving. Whilst I know these receptionists seem to be some of the worst gatekeepers known to man, I was shocked by how rude some of the patients were to them, with one woman virtually blaming them for her turning up half an hour late for her appointment. There were quite a few who had just turned up and if they couldn't be convinced to leave were put into the 'emergency' queue - maybe worth trying next time.
  3. I have been riding to work the last 6 months and have loved it, and plan to continue as the nights draw in. I am also lucky enough to have cycle store, showers etc at work, so weather shouldn't deter me. My journey to work is Crystal Palace Road down to Bellenden Road, Canal Path, Burgess Park, Portland St up to E&C, then Southwark Bridge Road to Southwark St and i'm there. Takes about 25 mins, however not keen on using Canal Path or Burgess Park come the dark nights - any suggestions or is it Walworth Road or nothing?
  4. dentist on Northcross Road is most definitely still up and running - i was in there last week, and unfortunately going back this week.
