  1. Amydown, totally empathise with you too. I think many couples really don't understand or enjoy having kids around at their wedding and the simple reason is that they don't yet have any of their own. It would be interesting to see if they felt the same way once they do have kids and are faced with a similar situation to yourself. Do what you feel comfortable with. I don't think your 7 month old will go off breastfeeding in one evening especially if you can express and the nanny can feed baby the expressed milk. If nanny can come with you that would be a good solution but as you've pointed out weddings are bloody expensive and people just don't think about the cost to others as it's 'their special day?'
  2. I know of some great house-sitters. My parents are coming to visit and would like a place to rent for a month ? from 23rd May until 20th June. They are a retired couple, very tidy and would be happy to water plants, etc, and pay for the accommodation. Please PM me if interested?
  3. Thanks for all your responses everyone, I really appreciate it. I do loovvvveee the look of the P&T Promenade, AmyDown, but I think I may have to go second-hand. ClareC keep me posted on when you might come to sell your P&T Vibe as we'll be looking to buy one in the summer?
  4. With baby number two due in the summer, we're considering getting a double buggy. I know the obvious choice is a Phil & Ted's but having pushed a couple of friends' P&T doubles (with two kids in) I am not sure I want to push something that heavy around. I also saw something called a Uppababy double ? anyone got one of those and can recommend? The other alternative is attaching a buggy board to our Bugaboo Bee for toddler (who'll be 2 and 4 months when baby is born) and/or carrying new baby around in a sling for the first few months. If toddler tantrums ensue then he can always jump into the buggy while I carry baby in sling. Any recommendations/advice gratefully received. Thanks!

  6. Hi all, Congratulations to you all, first timers and mummies already. I am due 9th August with babe no 2. Already have a 22 month old boy so keen to meet other mums with toddlers. Fridays are good for me.
  7. I haven't yet contacted the company but after reading the other posts, I think we will. Thanks everyone. The jiggling drives me nuts although my son thinks it's fun and often makes 'ahhh, ahhh' sounds while enjoying the rocky ride.
  8. Hi everyone Just wondering if anyone else has the same problem as we do: our Bugaboo Bee's (bought a year ago, so is the new version, Plus) front wheels shake a lot when we are pushing it. The wheels are not in a fixed position and I know they are supposed to jiggle a bit on undulating surfaces but it is doing it pretty much all the time, unless I am pushing it along a very smooth and level pavement. We've tried tightening the screws. Just wondered if we got a dud or whether anyone else has experienced the same problem? Thanks!
  9. Mothercourage, we are going to Kephalonia this year. Have heard very good things from friends with kids about it. It has sandy beaches, is supposedly not too touristy and has nice villages that are close together. Also charter flights fly direct to the Kephalonia airport so no ferries or changing planes etc... http://www.kefalonia.co.uk/
  10. Thanks for taking the time to respond, Saffron. Yes, they all have holes in them. Lamaze ones too. Will try your trick and if it doesn't work I will throw them out X
  11. My son's squirty plastic bath toys have recently been spilling out black mould. Is there any way of preventing this? Obviously don't want to use chemicals because he sucks the toys still, being 1 year old. Thanks!
  12. Hi all A group of NCT mums are looking for a place to hold our babies' first birthday in the first week of April. A restaurant/pub with a room for hire would be great, so the active ones can crawl around. Or failing that, somewhere with the space to host 12 adults and 6 babies (6 highchairs needed!) Any suggestions most welcome.
  13. Thanks everyone for taking the time to respond. I might invest a small lightweight one just to be sure. The sling idea is a very good one as well.
  14. Hi all We are travelling in September to Greece with our baby who will be 5 months old. We currently have a Bugaboo Bee and I was wondering whether we should/can take this buggy with us (do we need a buggy bag to protect it from rough baggage handlers?) or buy an easily collapsible McLaren or Micralite (these seem to be the two options recommended by a few friends)? We will be on a Thomson flight so imagine we won't be the only ones with a buggy. Very confused also about whether to check it in as luggage or take it to the flight door, does it depend on the buggy? Any advice much appreciated
