We recently used Jan at Silver Fern for some fencing and driveway works, he also built a side return shed which is now a water tight space for storage. Would certainly recommend speaking to Jan for gardening or landscaping needs. http://www.silverfernlondon.co.uk jan@silverfernlondon.co.uk

Hya, Just had a quote for ?1700 for cafe style white wooden shutters for our bay window in the lounge. Make in the UK (which I like idea of). Seems pretty steep but we do need to get it sorted soon (we have nothing at window & they can fit end Feb). So any advice from fellow shutter-ers who can say, 'no go here for half the price' warmly welcomed!!!! Thank you! (Dims are 110cm (h) x 106cm (w) in the middle, and 2 sides are 110cmx70cm

Sky High Builders - Renovations, Loft conversions, Extensions
AandM replied to Sky High Builders's topic in Reviews
We just had a kitchen extension done by Marvin & Nic from Sky High builders and we couldn't be happier. It was a 5 month job, with us living in the house throughout with a new baby and toddler, half the back of the house was ripped off though the winter, we expected it to be a nightmare, but they were so brilliant, they made it hardly stressful at all. And the end result - with bifold doors and sky lights etc - looks stunning. You can get 10 quotes, but they all end up being about the same in the end, so best to spend your money with a good bloke you can trust. If you want to do your kitchen or loft, definitely call Marvin on 07966189754. Amy & Mark- 35 replies

Hi, do you have solid/engineered wood or Karndean on the floor in your kitchen? If so I would appreciate your advice... We've been given lots of conflicting advice on whether warping, scratching and general maintenance is a problem with wood in a kitchen... We love the look of tiles but they're a bit cold and hard with little ones, and it's a big family room with sofa etc so prob not ideal... Considering karndean too (wood) so if you have that please let me know if you'd recommend it. Thanks in advance!

We'd also be interested and I have some mum friends who I'm sure would also want to come... -
I agree with Shen. BF will be more successful if you just go for it and don't allow yourself an easy out. It's worth it because of the health benefits for baby and also much easier than faffing with bottles. I'm sure the hospital will have formula, they need it for emergencies, but you're unlikely to need it anyway. For millions of years evolution has depended on BF! You don't need to doubt your own ability to feed your baby! You'll be fine, and the MWs will help! I had a nightmare BF-ing for 5/6 weeks but now it's going really well and I'm so glad I stuck it out. I'm not one of the breastapo though I'd like to add, if you choose to bottle feed that's cool, but if you want to give bf a go then you have to throw yourself into it as it can be hard at first. Good luck!

FREE TODAY TO DO TV??? Hello ladies, Amy here (previously AmyHitch but I can't remember my password thanks to my baby-brain so I've logged in with hubbys). I met a few of you at the Plough a few weeks ago (but annoyingly missed the last one as was in Notts visiting my mum)... anyway I work for Sky News and my collegue needs a group of mums to interview about home/hospital birth for a story for Sky News TV for tomorrow. Please will you call me if you'd be happy to be filmed today / tomorrow - just for 10 mins, they'd come to you. 07824 824455 Thanks! Amy x -
Hi Thanks; timing hard to say. Neighbour was in during afternoon and didn't hear anything but was out from 5pm. We were back at 10.30pm. You would think after dark but it could have been anytime.
