There are intermittent double yellows on the east side of CPR between Crawthew Grove and the Actress. Everyone ignores them - this side of the road is always fully parked. I'd always assumed that as they aren't distinct for the most part - and mostly seem to have been painted over in black at some point in the dim and distant past - that they don't apply any more. I've lived in this stretch since 2013 and I park my car here most of the time and have never got a ticket. Until last week that is. Does anyone know whether the double yellows in fact do apply? Which would be mad as they serve no prupose and are igored by one and all. And did anyone else get a ticket last week? Thanks! ARGH! I mean west side!

Brian and Des did an excellent job at a reasonable price. They turned up when they said they would and got the work done quickly and to a hiugh quality. I was very happy with everything!

Dulwich hospital development
lilaccruiser replied to schokoschnecke's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
One has to admire James Barber?s energy. I only met him once - he called at my door vehemently and articulately to encourage my support for controlled parking in CPR. He seemed very disappointed that I couldn?t see any need for such a regime. Sometimes one wants our elected representatives to do less. Though in the case of Dulwich Hospital, maybe we should do more. The new buildings on the site are rather pleasing to the eye, unlike the grubby wreck that is the Victorian institution next door. I?ve been in there a few times for blood tests and an x ray - it?s not nice. Small rooms, winding corridors, dirty, inefficient and decayed. It?s not particularly distinguished architecturally, so why not demolish it and put up something more fitting and useful? -
Ending the thread drift, hopefully, can I publish my thanks to the very nice man in a Mazda RX8 who gave me a mask at the entrance to Sainsbury?s when I turned up without one mid last week. A complete gentleman.

Not far from Crawthew Grove but on the opposite side (I think). This alarm goes off every few months and when it does it just keeps going. It went off earlier today a few times, each time for ages. It?s now started going off in short bursts stop/start. Near midnight on a Sunday. I?m hoping the b###ards haven gone off on holiday leaving us with their noise pollution. Anyone know which house it is?

Susan, thanks very much. Glad to know that I'm not going mad. I will DM you for more info if that's ok. It was going at 10pm last night and I think I heard it a few times over the weekend. It is driving me nuts too. -
Beeping in Crystal Palace Road

The idea of an invisible pelican crossing with just the beeps has an appeal. Definitely cheaper to install than the standard one with all those tedious traffic lights and buttons. And certainly less of an eyesore. Might be a bit dangerous for the pedestrians. But hey, you can?t have everything. -

Not my genre, I?m afraid. I have been playing a lot of Parliament-Funkadelic though. George Clinton likes a sound effect. Maybe his beeps have connected together and created a funky beep loop in my frontal lobe. I shall go to the grave pursued by rhythmic electronic noises. -

215 views and no posts. Maybe the beeping is in my head! -
I live near the junction with Crawthew Grove. There?s a regular, loud beeping noise which can occur at all times of the day and night. Anyone else been annoyed by it? Any idea how to stop it? I can?t find the source......

What's Happening on Crawthew Grove Project?
lilaccruiser replied to i*Rate's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I walked past for the nth time this morning and noticed that nothing has happened for absolutely ages. PaulaBianca I feel your pain - I was shown your house four years ago by an agent but who also pointed out the downside of living next to such a project for an unspecified period into the future. I bought another just round the corner I'm afraid. Scott is one of our more noted local residents - his pub refurbishments created real amenity if you ask me and I think that MeatLiquor is brilliant too. You may not share this view. Anyway, apropos of nothing, I wondered what the latest is? -
Did you get anywhere? Vaguely interested.....
