  1. It's quite possible a story about the East Dulwich Forum's weekend exploits may have been sneaked into tomorrow's South London Press... 50p from all good newsagents...
  2. Piers - yeah I know, it's very "low tech". I just write it, take that up with the web monkeys. Brendan - will be changed!
  3. Match report under the news secton: www.krcsc.co.uk
  4. Keef Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Oh and with regards my eyes, I am indeed > registered partially sighted, but I can see the > length of the wicket, so doesn't really make a > difference when bowling... Batting and catching on > the other hand... :-$ Oh Keef, Keef, Keef I'm a journalist and I'm going to ham it up bigtime - in the same way I would for my paper. For the purposes of this match report you're going to be more blind than Stevie Wonder in a darkened room with a blindfold on, shortly after he's had molten iron poured into his eye sockets...
  5. Forgot about that bail breaking throw - I think the forces of gravity had a lot to do with it though!
  6. (for the match report) Anyone know what M Coultart's first name is and A Frith, J Whitcombe and that guy we supplied who was really good - M Bailey???
  7. Cracking game boys - that was awesome. I was a bit worried you'd either have loads of really good players like Dems or no good players at all. In the end though it turned out to be a well matched game. I reckon if you'd taken another wicket towards the end - if Dems had caught that catch off Keef! - you probably would've won. The stars of the game were in no order Martin (awesome batting and bowling), Giles (an incredible 45 and good keeping), Jamie Keating (brave and stubborn batting to see us through) and Keef (who really should have taken three or four wickets). I'm writing up the match report now (in between bouts of doing my job...) and it should be on the website today. Expect many references to Keef taking wickets despite being partially sighted!
  8. Ok, I'll inform my lot that some of your team go by the names of "fear'n'boozin" and "floating onion".
  9. There's some bizarre counting going on there Ed.
  10. Feel free to contribute if you want of course, however there'll be enough grub to go around for players and fans.
  11. Don't worry about tea guys - we'll provide all the food and squash. Think we'll have to charge ?5 match fee each to cover the cost of hiring the ground etc. If you want tins bring some though. Just looked at the weather - it's going to be dry. Might be a bit nippy on the sidelines though so bring a jumper.
  12. There's a short match preview on the news page too. It's not going to rain - and if it does we're going to carry on regardless!
  13. Weather's looking a bit iffy - sun and light showers. However, I hope we're all going to display our characteristic British stubbornness and refuse to bow to the weather. The forecast may well change anyway.
  14. Too little too late boys - don't do yourself any damage...
  15. Hey, don't worry about whites - if you've got them, wear them but it isn't important. And Raju, stop trying to intimidate the forum with tales of super fast bowlers. Both of us know no-one is going to shower themself in glory in this game and the ability will be "varied" on both sides. However it should be a good day in the park with food and beer and modest entertainment. If anyone thinks it's going to be a sporting duel then they're wrong. Just so you know, we like to have a veneer of seriousness when it comes to organising things but we're really not great cricketers by anyone's standards so if anyone's feeling intimidated, you don't need to.
  16. The bit where the pitch is is by Doricote Road off Trinity Road. Have a look on Multimap. Basically if you come out of the station of the west side entrance and walk onto the common heading north you'll find it in about five minutes.
  17. Wandsworth Common, off Trinity Road. Nearest station is Wandsworth Common - five minute walk.
  18. Getting nearer to the big game... My lot are a bit worried you guys won't get 11. What do you reckon?
  19. Well, if that guy you had last year who wore the footie shirt is playing I might consider a helmet - he nearly took my head off at one point. We played on Saturday for the first time this year and it was awesome. Sod the cricket, it's all about the tea. My girfriend made some amazing cakes and one guy even chipped in with some home made pork pies. Genius. Have a look at the report in the news section of our website www.krcsc.co.uk.
  20. If there's any problem with players let me know and we might be able to help. We had our first game of the season yesterday. The standard of play wasn't exactly high but we had a great laugh. Cricket, sun and booze - what could be better apart from a Girls Aloud sex party?
  21. Yeah Piers - we've got you down for the 18th. If there's a problem - i.e. it's too soon - we can move it but it'd leave us with a hole in our fixture list we've got to fill. I'd prefer not to. Anyway, try and get a net in beforehand and make sure you've got 11. Last year we both struggled but this year people are getting more involved. As a cricket team we pride ourselves not on our sporting ability but our ability to lay on the best tea and cakes in all of South London - so that's something to look forward to!
  22. Can't be bothered to read this thread - it seems to have gone off topic a bit. But just to say there's absolutely no chance a BNP advert would appear in the SLP. All the staff would walk out.
  23. A "stir"? I've seen him on his bike. He didn't cause a stir with me. But he did reveal an awful lot. He's quite a local celeb in Streatham, there's even Flickr pages devoted to his image.
