  1. Jaflong is moving to East Dulwich road (or another location in ED). I've eaten there a few times, the food is delicious!
  2. Thanks for letting us know!

Dogkennelhillbilly...please explain those alternatives. I'm sure that will help those people with old cars who can't afford the upgrade.

  6. I don't understand this method of penalising people without first providing viable alternatives. Perhaps Southwark can install more electric charging points on residential roads? Hopefully electric/hybrids will become cheaper but those with flats, terraced homes and front gardens that don't have OSP (I think, the majority of the SE22) won't be able to charge the vehicles. Could the Mayor hurry up and improve SE22's public transport connections into London e.g.local bike scheme, a rail/tube service that delivers a frequent reliable service; basic stuff that exists elsewhere (albeit costly). If we have good alternatives we shouldn't need cars but our options are inadequate. Yes we want to prevent avoidable deaths! If the Mayor and TFL are really committed to this then they have to invest first (yeah that would make sense!)

Waitrose and ocado (home delivery services) have minimum spends (?40 -60 minimum spend) which is fine if you have a large family or do a fortnightly shop but if you want to buy small amounts frequently then those delivery companies aren't helpful.
  9. well said monica!

Agreed, Croydon centre has had both M&S and waitrose for years. They also have a LIDL and markets offering cheaper food. (also a virgin active and The Gym). You can buy or do nearly anything in Croydon at varying price ranges to suit all.
  11. Potential site for a waitrose would be the derelict site/ former pub site opposite the Bathstore (other end of LL at the south circular). General car and delivery vehicle traffic is less likely to be an issue as it's always busy on the South Circular.
  12. I don't understand why is there always at least one poster who makes unnecessary and rude comments. It happens on nearly all the threads. It's so frustrating! Most of the time it leads to a deterioration of the whole thread. Before that everyone else was making their comments and contributions about their opinions and experiences; no harm, no waste of data or memory on my laptop. Then suddenly the attack begins with a frustrated 'FFS'. I don't recall an opinion being expressed in the message; but there were a number of questions so just to answer... There are plenty of people that care about where you shop and what you eat! It's scary how much our habits are being tracked! There are all kinds of businesses that have and still are creating technologies to obtain that kind of data (from forums, credit cards, loyalty cards, web searches etc) and receive a great deal of money to do so. Enjoy your food shopping and keep posting!
  13. Unfortunately Southwark doesn't provide many (if any) electric charge points on residential roads. As electric cars become more affordable and people have the space in the front garden they will may electric cars and will need to set up OSP with private charge points.
  14. They are both awful. The queues are so long! I loved the previous PO because I never had to wait that long and the guy behind the counter was always so nice.

  16. we have amazing views from our house (first floor)...can see the shard, big ben, wembley arch, st pauls, london eye. At night the lights are stunning. We don't have to walk up a hill everyday (lordship lane end of dunstans road and upland road).. also good views on ferndene road se24 too (have driven past and stopped). I think Mundania, Marmora road SE22 also have great views.
  17. Good luck and enjoy :-) Crystal palace park is lovely and the Bridge house pub is nice too.
  18. Well a couple of years to improve is better than what we have now. To my recollection this service has been poor for years! In any case, just because a line is complex doesn't mean that it will take years to improve. The current London Overground is an orbital but in the past there were several lines and each were previously run by different operators; It's all now under TFL. I used to use 3 of the lines (services to Euston, the gospel oak line and the Richmond/stratford line) they were pretty unreliable especially the gospel oak line.
  19. Hi lpool If the line is under TfL it is likely to become a London overground line. These are much better managed than the existing Southern service.
  20. lol!
  21. I hope this link works...I found it funny...https://twitter.com/southern_trains?lang=en-gb I thought it was a spoof site but not sure....the more i read it the sadder it is!

  23. I wrote a letter to the Mayor complaining about the cancellations (southern) a couple of weeks ago.... I was so fed up!
  24. The Szechenyi Bath's (outdoor heated baths) in Budapest are very popular in the cold months. Admittedly they are very warm....If the lido pool heated well and not full of leaves it could be popular in the winter..
  25. Sounds like a fantastic addition to Peckham Rye common; for the whole community
