  1. I'm affected by the Adys Road proposal. I'm broadly for it, but wonder how much the permit will cost - if at all -the parking costs are already so expensive. I'm also wondering how will it affect visitors and workmen to my house; will they be allowed temporary permits? This info is not given in the letter.
  2. Idiot question: isn't the definition of common "common"? Can they lawfully stop us going over the designated ground?
  3. I own a gazunder you could have: lovely white china. You may wish to remove the spiky Aloe Vera plant that currently sits in it.
  4. Put them up until Candlemass.
  5. I think what happened in Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne recently should be expunged completely from living memory and history.
  6. @JohnL I was working at Sainsbury's before Christmas and received - and am still receiving - charges for parking legitimately at 4am - 8am. Charges being applied by Euro Car Parks. Fortunately S. are dealing with fines.
  7. Euro Car Parks service the cameras at Sainsbury's. 020 3553 4559 www.eurocarparks.com
  8. I went as walk in to Tessa Jowell Centre yesterday. Wednesday is booster day! Tried to go on a Tuesday last week, and they operate out of Lister Centre, Peckham on that day.
  9. Damn! I though this was a thread about Bros.
  10. Does anyone know if the scrappage grant HAS to be used to purchase a new car? The actual wording is: "The payment can be used to purchase a vehicle which does meet the ULEZ standards."
  11. Would it be too pedantic to suggest the use of "Can I..." rather than the lovelier, but somewhat neglected "May I..."?
  12. Loving the tribute to John Kennedy in the form of a model railway display.
  13. Bad play stops light?
  14. The photos aren't opening.
  15. "A really simple way of helping stop birds and foxes get into the refuse sacks that litter pickers place on the streets is to make sure they are always put on top of the nearest litter bin. It really helps but not all pickers put them on top, even if a bin is nearby." I find this habit really irritating: how am I meant to extinguish and dispose of a cigarette? Just throw it on the floor?
  16. As RichH above, I received general NHS letter inviting me to book online. TJH Centre was not one of the options offered. I booked my two jabs at St. Thomas'. About 10 days later I received an invitation from my surgery, The Gardens, via text, to book at TJH or Lister. I duly booked this and was offered next day at TJH. I simply cancelled my St. Thomas' option online.
  17. I've shared on Facebook. Please update us when you hear anything.
  18. Nationality is relevant if it's a cultural thing. For example, Spain tends towards late night habits and their children go to bed later than here.
  19. I think it was a brothel at one _oint Sue. S_ilt coffee on my keyboard the other day - can't have a _ee now
  20. I'm back - mysteriously, I seem to have purchased a large packet of Jaffa Cakes.
  21. No, but it's bloody annoying. I need to pop to Tesco Express. If I'm not back soon, I have been taken hostage by whoever* is being looked for by the helicopter. In the event of my demise, I bequeath my account to seanmacgabhann. *whomever??
  22. Albrighton Centre Food Bank will be giving Christmas presents to their customers. New children's books would be very welcome.
  23. I'm reading "The Princess Bride" at the moment, quite amusing but the foreword is dire. This bit made me smile, though probably for the wrong reasons: "Why do you wear a mask and hood?" Fezzik asked. "I think everybody will in the near future" was the man in black's reply. "They're terribly comfortable."
