  1. Could it be a "keeper's gibbet"? Farmers/country folk believe it deters other birds.
  2. I was looking forward to the new Pizza Joint as Papa John's doesn't cater for my taste. Unfortunately, it doesn't do garlic, anchovies, artichokes or capers, all of which I like on a pizza. I'll have to stick to The Gowlett.
  3. I think the picture framers on East Dulwich Road usually have copies.
  4. Hi Joe I think you've done a fantastic job on the new forum. Thanks. One query: what does "reputation" section mean? Sounds a bit sinister to me (although my reputation went south years ago). PGC
  5. Just to point out to residents, you will need to add an SC7 school street parking permit to your usual parking permit. This is issued for 12 months and doesn't cost anything. Click on parking permit on Southwark website and it is on drop-down menu.
  6. The one that I've heard of is for puppies - perhaps search with that in the title? Sorry, I don't know any more details, this is second hand info.
  7. Can't seem to post on the old thread. Wow. Anyone else watch/listen to England v Pakistan? Amazing result, I have a stupid grin on my face!
  8. Why does Santa have three gardens? So he can hoe, hoe, hoe!
  9. This may be useful, from today's Guardian. https://www.theguardian.com/society/2022/nov/28/long-covid-the-patient-whos-made-an-app-to-track-its-symptoms
  10. Excellent site and very sobering. Thanks.
  11. If you can bear to read the Daily Mail, Sarah Vine has given a favourable review.
  12. Rather sweet, if slightly predictable. Great to see my old haunts. Thanks for the heads up.
  13. Brilliant Joe.
  14. I did as advised, only increased by two. Sod that for a game of guardsmen!
  15. Never mind 100, how am I going to achieve 10,000 posts status now?
  16. *oils hinges to Quiet Room...*
  17. Beacon on One Tree Hill.
  18. "The Lane" is only ever East Street.
  19. Snuck Pled By two English journalists today. Drives me nuts.
  20. According to Martin Lewis website, if you do not pay by DD, the council will send you a letter asking for bank details. They have until September to do this. Those paying by DD can expect the payment in April. You could set up a DD and cancel it after the payment has been made.
  21. Nice to see this on the Guardian OBO: The players link arms for the anthems. They?re all in black armbands in memory of the two late greats, Rod Marsh and Shane Warne. It?s good to see, but an even better tribute to Warne would have been to pick a leg-spinner on this bare surface. He advised England to pick Matt Parkinson in Brisbane, and was rather proved right by what happened to Jack Leach there. Not so nice to see England are 17 for 2 after five seconds. I can't seem to find TMS commentary - can anyone advise? (I don't have BT Sport)
  22. St Faith's Community Centre, Red Post Hill, Dulwich hold an open house for choosing free clothing, household items, toys and books every Monday afternoon. I don't know what their dropping off policy is but they can be contacted on: www.getridofit-donate.com Tel: 07944 102 112
