  1. They were setting up this morning, didn?t realise they were still there. Great to see the doors open. Might go and have a cheeky, socially distanced wander...
  2. Happy St. Patricks's day to all! Hope everyone OK.
  3. Seconded. Merry Christmas East Dulwich. Thanks to admin for maintaining the forum which has been a life line this year. All the best for 2021!
  4. It's been a rather light lockdown, in contrast to the Spring/Summer one. Coffee shops and markets still open. The R-number is on the decrease however. The pubs are opening next week but going for a few pints is still off the cards unless a 'substantial' meal is ordered, although last orders is 10 pm..?
  5. They are absurd, I cannot understand how anyone including grown adults, think they look good going around on one. Whoever invented them should be birched.
  6. Glad to hear the situation ended well, thanks sue. I work there and saw the cordon as I was leaving. I really felt for the person involved, must have been in a desperate place. Hope they?re ok.
  7. This time of year I read 'A Christmas Carol'. This Thursday however, is the release of Jack Charlton's autobiography, I can't wait...
  8. Being forced not to visit relatives at Christmas? Nobel peace prize for Boris then..?
  9. alice, try 'voltarol', it worked for me. It's a cream you massage into the affected area, you can buy it over the counter.
  10. Michael Angelis, 76. Best known for 'Boys from the black stuff' but popped up in loads of great episodes of programmes such as 'Minder', Lovejoy', 'Auf Wiederhesen Pet'.
  11. That must be one of the most contentious laws on the statute books; cutting back your neighbour's overhanging branches and then chucking them back for someone else to pick up.
  12. presumably explains 'the hermit's cave' pub in camberwell?
  13. On the morning of my first Saturday off from work in a while, a text popped up on my phone stating that Barclays had issued another debit card to me as a security precaution. This got me worrying but after a long phone call was told that this is a routine thing they often do. Anyone else have experience of this? It bugged me all day.
  14. There has been increase in graffiti on the lane recently and apart from p'ing me off, it always reminds me of the 'broken window hypothesis'. I've mentioned this a few times previously; nip this behavior in the bud and we'll all benefit, allow it to go unchallenged and we're offering ourselves up on a plate. Graffiti is a bugbear of mine and I have reported it on Southwark council's website. Anyone have any experience of doing this?
  15. Ben is a posh name, it does not belong in the same bracket as Darren and Gavin.
  16. Lordship lane and Dulwich park were absolutely heaving this afternoon, I was walking home from work incidentally. Maybe the lockdown measures should be toughened. In Spain people were literally confined indoors.
  17. Glad someone else likes the shield. It was one of the few shows I really got into when it first aired years ago, on channel 5 if memory serves correct. Vic Mackey was one of those brutally funny characters you were compelled to watch.
  18. Cheers guys! 'Sopranos' and 'Derry girls' both brilliant, will check out 'Crashing'
  19. Just binge watched 'Fleabag' on BBC iplayer. God it was good! I am aware it's a few years old but I'm perpetually behind the times. Thoroughly recommended. What to watch now though..?
  20. Thinking about putting an ad in Guardian soul mates; man with loo roll seeks women with hand sanitiser for good clean fun!
  21. I never mentioned 'indefinite immunity'. If you are infected with a virus/bacteria and recover, circulating antibodies produced in response, that are specific to that strain of virus/bacteria, will prevent re-infection. If the virus or bacteria mutate, as influenza viruses do, then new strains are created and cause infection.
  22. Infection with the coronavirus will indeed generate immunity to at least the particular strain of the virus the individual has been infected with. The more people who become immune to it will generate herd immunity. Vaccination works this way too but is obviously a safer way of achieving herd immunity. Exposure to the coronavirus as 'the answer to immunity' is controversial as infection can result in death even in apparently young, fit healthy people. Give me a vaccine for a bacteria or virus anyday.
  23. If this isn?t nipped in the bud things will get worse and worse. East Dulwich and it?s residents, will be seen as a soft touch.
  24. Heartily recommend this recipe... https://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/vegetables-recipes/butternut-squash-muffins-with-a-frosty-top/
  25. I think those running too close to other people may well be rookie-joggers. I've noticed an increase amount of joggers lately, perhaps due to the fact that there isn't much else to do when the sun is out.
