  1. Hi all, Now this isn't strictly a family question but I love the sense of the people who post in this section and as us 6 girls are all mums that use the forum I hope you don't mind me using this section. I'm looking for any ideas from people for accommodation for 6 girls escaping for 3 nights in NY in September. We are keen to do something nice that doesn't cost the earth. Any suggestions would be great. many thanks Sharlene
  2. Hi there, anyone know somewhere I can get 24hour ironing done in ED?
  3. hysterical. Haven't laughed like that in ages!
  4. Hi Ali, Jim and I decided to go for the made to measure black out roller blinds to go behind curtains with back-out material on them. They work a treat in the summer! If not keen to change over, then the static stuff on the roll is great. It's what we use on holiday. Sharlene x
  5. Gap are brilliant - all adjustable and good quality. My skinny 3 year old has no problems.

  9. Hi there, My son is turning 5 and is desperate for a skateboard. Does anyone know of anyone who does lessons? Thanks Sharls
  10. The corsa is a 1.4 5 doors
  11. My new corsa fits 3 seats in the back.
  12. Hi there, Can anyone recommend some good ideas for a birthday party for a 5yr old boy? Thanks
  13. My son is in reception too and we are over the moon with the school. We turned down our place at Goodrich to accept the place there even though we drive from Henslowe Rd to it.
  14. We had a no children request for our wedding except for breast feeding babies. I think it is quite acceptable to not have children at a wedding if that is what you want. We already had a child of one at the time and so many of our friends had babies. Everyone had a ball without their kids and the breast feeding Mums still felt welcome and accepted. It is possible to have it all.
  15. My husband and I went to st lucia for 7 days leaving our 2 little ones with grandma and grandad. It was a totally brilliant honeymoon and so pleased we did it. I too felt guilty but once we were out there we had such a great time. Enjoy!!
  16. My son is in reception at Horniman. It is outstanding in the ofsted early years and we are really pleased with the incredibly supportive environment. My son is very happy there.
  17. I agree - had the Lanes and were so amazing!
  18. My boy loves to dance but is only 4 - will keep it in mind for next year.
  19. There is a new place opened in brockley - google tdlp.co.uk. I have not been but looks like it will be good.
  20. Looks great - is there parking around there do you Know?
  21. We LOVED dairyworld - attended with a 4 year old, 2 year old, 5 year old, six year old and nine year old. All really enjoyed it and we had good fun too!
  22. The new model toyota verso is brilliant - more boot space then an estate, can be 7 seats and is really comfy. We chose this over an estate and are so pleased with it
  23. My son does ballet at nursery and really loves it! They have an ex professional ballerina at the nursery so she teaches them all once a week. It is the highlight of his week. He is turning 4 soon and although his dad initially said that "ballet stays at nursery" I think even he realises how much he will miss it when he starts school. He is going to go to horniman school in September and will hopefully continue lessons there. Good luck with it. P.S. He loves football just as much
  24. Hi there, I run a weight management clinic with a dietitian and my big advice would be to eat more wholegrain, low GI foods that keep you full for longer, and do lots of exercise!! Liz's powerpramming is great and just get out there and walk lots!! I have 2 small ones but make sure I have time to get out for a jog once a week with some other mums and also do some pilates. I really can't stress the importance of diet and exercise together!! Good luck and get out there in this sunshine!!
  25. Hi there, We are quite away away from the school as well - Henslowe Rd but are thrilled to get Horniman (did you hear that the early years just got outstanding in the ofsted report!) If you fancy a play date sometime then there are a few of us that are catching up a couple of times before September - if you look for Horniman thread you should find Becca's post - we aren't around for the first one but will hopefully do one at mine soon after. Stay in touch and maybe see you then. Sharls
